The Schelde class are a class of tugboats used by the Royal Netherlands Navy, primarily to move around large fenders and small sloops at the Nieuwe Haven Naval Base. [2]

The five ships from the Schelde class are set to be replaced by three new vessels which are going to be built by Stormer Marine in Hoorn. These new ships will be delivered in 2023 and 2024. [7] [8]
The Karel Doorman-class frigates are a series of eight multi-purpose vessels built for the Royal Netherlands Navy. Its namesake is Karel Doorman, a Dutch naval officer whose ship was struck by a Japanese torpedo in the Battle of the Java Sea in 1942, and went down with his ship as a result.
HNLMS Van Amstel (F831) is a ship of the Karel Doorman-class of multi-purpose frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy. Built by the shipyard Koninklijke Schelde Groep in Vlissingen. The ship is named after the Dutch Captain Jan van Amstel.
HNLMS Van Galen (F834) is a ship of the Karel Doorman class of multi-purpose frigates of the Royal Netherlands Navy. Built by the shipyard Koninklijke Schelde Groep in Vlissingen. The ship is named after captain and convoy commander Johan van Galen and served from 1994 to 2008 with the Dutch navy. The radio call sign of the frigate was "PAMG". In 2009 HNLMS Van Galen was sold Portugal. The ship was transferred in 2010 to the Portuguese Navy, where the ship was put into service as the NRP Dom Francisco de Almeida (F334).
The Buyskes class was a class of two hydrographic survey vessels that were part of the Dutch Hydrographic Service of the Royal Netherlands Navy. Together with HNLMS Tydeman the ships of this class were the main ships of the Dutch Hydrographic Service during the last quarter of the 20th century. While the ships of the Buyskes class were built for performing hydrographic research, the Tydeman was focused on oceanography.

The Bolder class, formerly known as the Line Handling Work Boat, was announced on 21 November 2022 by the Royal Netherlands Navy. The LHWB ships will replace the five ships from the Schelde class. They will be built by Stormer Marine in Hoorn. Delivery of the first vessel took place on 22 November 2023, the second on 9 July 2024, and the last should be delivered near the end of 2024.
