Kinesiology is the scientific study of human body movement. Kinesiology addresses physiological, anatomical, biomechanical, pathological, neuropsychological principles and mechanisms of movement. Applications of kinesiology to human health include biomechanics and orthopedics; strength and conditioning; sport psychology; motor control; skill acquisition and motor learning; methods of rehabilitation, such as physical and occupational therapy; and sport and exercise physiology. Studies of human and animal motion include measures from motion tracking systems, electrophysiology of muscle and brain activity, various methods for monitoring physiological function, and other behavioral and cognitive research techniques.

Victor L. Katch is a former professor of movement science and pediatrics and a former American basketball coach and player. He was a professor of movement science in the University of Michigan's Division of Kinesiology and an associate professor of pediatric cardiology at the University of Michigan Medical School. He was also the first head coach of the Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team, holding the position during the program's development from 1973 to 1974.

Elizabeth Yakel is an archivist, researcher, and educator in information science. Yakel is known for work advancing archival practice, the use of primary sources in archives education, studies of data reuse practices, and digital curation. Yakel is the senior associate dean for academic affairs and a professor at the University of Michigan School of Information, where she has been on the faculty since 2000. She is the former coordinator of the Preservation of Information specialization in the Master of Science in Information program and teaches in the Archives and Record Management area. She specializes in digital archives and digital preservation and has developed five such graduate level courses at UM, including "Economics of Sustainable Digital Information" and "Practical Engagement Workshop in Digital Preservation."

The University of Connecticut's College of Agriculture, Health, and Natural Resources (CAHNR) is the oldest of UConn's fourteen colleges, and teaches a wide range of subjects.
