Sean Wade

Sean Patrick Wade (born 2 February 1966 in Wellington) is a long-distance runner from New Zealand, who represented his native country in the men's marathon at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. There he finished in 83rd place. Wade was also a member of the Kiwi team at the 1990 Commonwealth Games, where he ended up in 11th position in the men's steeplechase. Now representing the United States, Wade has competed continuously since his time as an elite open athlete. In 2016, he set several age group world records in masters' athletics.

At the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona he was ninth in his heat of the 5000m and did not advance to the final. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta he was 12th in his heat of the 10000m and did not advance to the final. At the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Vancouver he did not finish the 10000m.

Nauru was represented by the Nauru Olympic Committee, and was the only nation out of 204 participating nations and territories that sent only a single athlete, and was one of 117 that won no medals at the Games. The sole athlete to represent the nation was Itte Detenamo, who participated in the weightlifting, and was the flag bearer in both the opening and closing ceremonies. This was the same number of athletes as at the 1996 Olympics, when Marcus Stephen represented the country in the same sport, but was a decrease from the nation's last appearance at the Games when three athletes were sent to Athens. Nauru earned a berth for the weightlifting event in the Oceania and South Pacific Olympic Weightlifting Championships in 2008 and a chance to send participants in swimming and athletics events, but chose to send only a weightlifter. Itte Detenamo competed in the Group B of heavyweight class, fifteenth and last event of the weightlifting. He did not earn a medal, but finished with a personal best.

Quentin Rew is a race walker from New Zealand. At the 2011 World Athletics Championships Rew finished 24th in the 50 kilometres race walk. He represented New Zealand in the 50 km race walk at the 2012 Summer Olympics, originally finishing 30th. With the subsequent ban for a doping offence of Igor Yerokhin Rew's placing would be raised to 29th. At the 2015 World Championships in Athletics Rew finished 10th in the 50 kilometres walk in 3:48:48. At the XXI Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Rew finished 5th in the Men's 20 kilometres walk, with a time of 1:21:47. In 2021, Rew finished 16th in the men's 50 kilometres walk at the 2020 Summer Olympics with a time of 3:57:33.
