Myron Arturo Morgan (born 17 September 1990), better known by the stage name Serena ChaCha, is a Panamanian-American drag performer and wigstress, best known for appearing on the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race , and on the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars , placing 13th in both.

Early life and education

Morgan was born and raised in La Chorrera, Panama. [2] Morgan later moved to the United States. He graduated with a BFA from Florida State University in 2012. [3] [4]

Career

Morgan first performed in drag in 2010. [4]

In 2013, ChaCha was announced as one of 14 contestants competing in the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race. At 21, she was the youngest contestant. [2] [4] [5] ChaCha was in the bottom two in the first episode, eliminating Penny Tration in a lip-sync to "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus; the following episode, she was eliminated by Monica Beverly Hillz following a lip-sync to "Only Girl (In the World)" by Rihanna. [2] [6] Following ChaCha's appearance on the show, she released a single, "Cha Cha". [7]

In 2021, ChaCha was announced as one of the returning drag queens competing in the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars. [8] ChaCha was the lowest-placing queen to return for an All Stars season. [4] ChaCha was eliminated in the first episode as a result of a group vote following her talent show performance. [8] She was offered a chance to return to the competition in the tenth episode's 'Game within a Game', but lost in a lip-sync against Jiggly Caliente to "Free Your Mind" by En Vogue. [9]

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is an American reality competition spin off edition of the original RuPaul's Drag Race, which is produced by World of Wonder, for Logo TV and later VH1. The show premiered on October 22, 2012, on Logo TV, before relocating to VH1. However, it was announced on February 20, 2020, on the show's official Twitter account that the fifth season would premiere on June 5, 2020, on Showtime. Following the cast announcement on May 8, 2020, producers announced that the show would remain airing on VH1 instead of Showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused "various scheduling and programming adjustments". The sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars premiered on June 24 and concluded on September 2, 2021. The first two episodes of the season aired on the same day. On August 20, 2020, VH1 renewed both RuPaul's Drag Race and All Stars for its thirteenth and sixth season respectively. On February 24, 2021, ViacomCBS announced the sixth season of the show would move from VH1 to Paramount+, an online streaming service. However, the season is still broadcast by the same networks abroad.
