Jorgeous is the stage name of Jorge Meza, a drag performer most known for competing on season 14 of RuPaul's Drag Race . [2]

Early life

Meza was born and raised to a Mexican American family in West San Antonio, Texas. [3] [4] [5] [6]

Career

Meza started doing drag and performing in gay bars at the age of 16. [7] [8] [9] He has said, "The name Jorgeous came from the word 'gorgeous' and my boy name, which is Jorge." [10]

Jorgeous competed on season 14 of RuPaul's Drag Race . [2] After surviving multiple lip syncs, [11] she was eliminated after failing to impress judges during a challenge in which contestants roasted series judge Ross Mathews. [12] Stephen Daw of Billboard called her "the season's undisputed lip sync assassin". [13] While filming, Jorgeous had an unaired "budding romance" with fellow contestant Orion Story. [14] [15] Following Drag Race, she joined the Werq the World tour. [16] She was a cast member of the variety show RuPaul's Drag Race Live! , as of 2023. [17] [18]

In 2022, Jorgeous appeared alongside other drag queens in a tribute to Jennifer Lopez at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. [19] She also appeared in the music video for Leland's song "Taste So Good". [20] [21]

Personal life

Meza relocated to Tennessee for work at the age of 18. [22] He lived in Nashville as of late 2021. [23] Meza is gay and has an older brother who is also gay. [3]

Jorgeous had approximately 100,000 followers on Instagram, as of February 2022. [24]

<i>RuPauls Drag Race All Stars</i> American reality television series

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is an American reality competition spin off edition of the original RuPaul's Drag Race, which is produced by World of Wonder, for Logo TV and later VH1. The show premiered on October 22, 2012, on Logo TV, before relocating to VH1. However, it was announced on February 20, 2020, on the show's official Twitter account that the fifth season would premiere on June 5, 2020, on Showtime. Following the cast announcement on May 8, 2020, producers announced that the show would remain airing on VH1 instead of Showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused "various scheduling and programming adjustments". On February 24, 2021, Paramount+ announced via Twitter that the streaming service would be the new home to the series for the sixth season.

Naysha Lopez is the stage name of drag performer and beauty pageant participant Fabian Rodriguez, who won the 2013 Miss Continental competition and appeared on the eighth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.

Since her season aired in 2018, O'Hara has been a staple of several domestic and international tours that feature Drag Race contestants, including Werq the World, Christmas Queens and Drive 'N Drag. She has also appeared on a number of web series produced by World of Wonder, including Can Do Queens, which she co-hosts with Kameron Michaels. In June 2018, she released "Queen for Tonight", her debut single. Her second single, "Crown Up", was released on May 20, 2019, along with an accompanying music video. She later returned to compete on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, an all-winners season, in 2022. Oddly has been on the worldwide Werq the World drag concert tour since 2019. The fourteenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race premiered on January 7, 2022. The reality competition series, broadcast on VH1 in the United States, showcases 14 new queens competing for the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar". Casting calls for season 14 were opened in November 2020, and the cast was officially revealed by season 13 winner Symone on VH1 on December 2, 2021.
