Olivia Lux (born March 14, 1994), [1] is the stage name of Fred Carlton Bunton, [2] an American drag performer most known for competing on season 13 of RuPaul's Drag Race . Olivia joined the House of Miyake-Mugler in November 2021 and in February 2022 announced that she would be changing her name to Liv Lux Miyake-Mugler when referred to in the ballroom scene. [3]

Career

Olivia grew up in Buena Vista Township and nearby Vineland. [4] She graduated from Montclair State University. [2]

Olivia competed on season 13 of RuPaul's Drag Race . [5] She placed in the top five, losing her spot in the finale after losing a lip-sync to Kandy Muse. [6] [7] On the second episode of the season, Olivia placed in the top, but lost the lip-sync for the win to Symone. In the sixth and seventh episodes of the season, Olivia won the main challenges, winning two cash prizes of $5,000. [6] She became a member of the House of Miyake-Mugler who won season 2 of Legendary, and made her debut in the competitive ballroom scene in 2021. [8] She was also cast in X-Mas X-Travaganza - Shantay You Sleigh in 2021. [9]

In April 2023, Olivia announced on her Instagram and Twitter that she was cast as the role of Angel in Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Rent, running from June 7 to July 2, 2023. [10]

Personal life

Originally from New Jersey, Olivia Lux lives in Brooklyn, as of 2023. [11] She dances, sings, and writes music. [12] Her original drag name came from Olivia Pope from Scandal , and the Latin word for light. [13]

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is an American reality competition spin off edition of the original RuPaul's Drag Race, which is produced by World of Wonder, for Logo TV and later VH1. The show premiered on October 22, 2012, on Logo TV, before relocating to VH1. However, it was announced on February 20, 2020, on the show's official Twitter account that the fifth season would premiere on June 5, 2020, on Showtime. Following the cast announcement on May 8, 2020, producers announced that the show would remain airing on VH1 instead of Showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused "various scheduling and programming adjustments". On February 24, 2021, Paramount+ announced via Twitter that the streaming service would be the new home to the series for the sixth season.

The ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race began airing on March 24, 2017, on VH1. The returning judges included RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews and Carson Kressley. Fourteen drag queens competed for the title of "America's Next Drag Superstar". The prizes for the winner are a one-year supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics, a cash prize of $100,000, and a crown and scepter provided by Shandar.
