Joshua Allen Eads, better known by the stage name Ginger Minj (born September 11, 1984), is an American drag queen, actor, singer-songwriter, and reality television personality. [1] After achieving recognition for placing as the runner-up on the seventh season of the reality television competition series RuPaul's Drag Race , Minj returned to compete on the second and sixth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars . Minj has acted in three Netflix productions—the comedy feature film Dumplin' (2018), the animated series Super Drags , and RuPaul's fictional series AJ and the Queen , and has acted in numerous theatrical productions. Minj appeared in the 2022 film Hocus Pocus 2 , the sequel to Hocus Pocus . Minj has released three studio albums— Sweet T (2016), Gummy Bear (2021), and Double Wide Diva (2021).
Eads was born in Lake County, Florida, and majored in theater at school. Her drag mother is retired Orlando performer Rusty Fawcett and his drag father is legendary male entertainer and pageant promoter, Bob Taylor. [2] Her first time in drag was with “BOYS BOYS BOYS” at the Orlando Fringe Festival in 2005. [3]
Ginger Minj competed on the seventh season of the reality television competition RuPaul's Drag Race , which was announced on March 2, 2015. [4] Throughout the competition, Minj won three challenges, most notably the Snatch Game, portraying Adele (tying with Kennedy Davenport's portrayal of Little Richard). [5] Minj's performance of Adele was later ranked as the sixth best Snatch Game performance in Drag Race "herstory" by Sam Damshenas of Gay Times . [6] Minj ultimately lost to Violet Chachki in the final episode, placing as a runner-up alongside Pearl. [7]
Minj was subsequently announced as one of ten contestants for the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars on June 17, 2016. [8] Minj was eliminated in the third episode, placing eighth overall. Minj then appeared as a guest for the first challenge in the premiere episode of season eleven. [9]
Following Drag Race, Minj embarked on several international drag tours. In 2016, Minj was a part of Battle of the Seasons rotating roster of queens. [10] Minj hosted the Haters Roast tour, though controversially was later fired from the event. [11] [12] Minj later hosted Queens United in November 2017, a benefit put together by Phi Phi O'Hara in an effort to raise money for people affected by Hurricane Maria. [13]
In April 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic, Minj was announced as a featured cast member for the very first Digital Drag Fest , an online drag festival. [14] Minj returned the following year for the second annual Digital Drag Fest, in May 2021. [15]
On May 26, 2021, Minj was announced as a contestant for the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. [16] After winning a lip sync against Mayhem Miller in the fifth episode of the season, Minj won $30,000. [17] Minj won another $20,000 in the eighth episode of the season, Snatch Game of Love, after winning a lip sync against Heidi N Closet and making her the second queen to win the Snatch Game twice, after BenDeLaCreme. Ginger Minj finished the season as a runner-up alongside Eureka! and Ra'Jah O'Hara, ultimately losing to Kylie Sonique Love. [18]
Minj has competed in many pageants throughout their career, holding several titles including "Miss National Comedy Queen 2012" and "Miss Gay United States 2013". [19]
Minj released their first single, "Ooh Lala Lala", on June 1, 2015. [20] A second single, "Bad, Bad Boy", was released on October 21, 2016. [21] Minj's debut album, Sweet T , was released in October 2016. [22] The album consists of a mix of original songs and covers and features of variety of styles including pop, rock, dance, jazz, and soul. Minj also contributed to the compilation album Christmas Queens 3 in 2017. [23]
Another album, Clown Fucker, was set to be released in December 2018, [24] but was pushed back to early 2019, and, as of 2021, remains unreleased. [25] On June 11, 2021, Ginger Minj announced her second studio album, Gummy Bear , would be released on June 25, 2021, with "Clown Fucker" as one its tracks. She performed the title track "Gummy Bear" on the first episode of All Stars 6. [26] The album peaked at #2 on the iTunes Comedy Album Charts. [27]
In September 2021, Minj released their third album, Double Wide Diva. The country album featured seven original songs and a cover of Garth Brooks' "Friends in Low Places". [28] Minj co-wrote each original song on the album, six of which alongside Brandon Stansell and Jeffrey James with producer Aaron Aiken. [27]
In May 2022, Ginger Minj will portray the voice of Puss Puss Dubois in Alaska's Drag: The Musical (Studio Cast Recording) , a studio recording of a planned stage production about two rival drag bars that go head-to-head while struggling through financial troubles. [29]
Minj began their career as a child actor, acting in Christian films and books on tape. [30] As an adult, Minj continued acting, starring in Clandestine Arts' production of Avenue Q . [31] Minj performed with other All Stars 2 queens at the Trailblazer Honors for Harvey Fierstein as the only singing performer on July 7, 2016. [32] Minj was with Katya and Alyssa Edwards on commercial bumpers for a Mama's Family marathon for the Logo channel. [33]
In 2014, Minj played Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd at Orlando's Clandestine-Arts. The casting initially lead to a cease-and-desist order in response to her casting, but this was resolved when a video of Ginger performing the role was sent to composer/lyricist Stephen Sondheim, who personally signed off on her performance. Minj voiced the character Lemon Chiffon in the 2018 Netflix original series Super Drags . [35] [36]
In 2018, Minj starred in the Netflix musical comedy feature film Dumplin' . [24] [37] In 2020, Minj portrayed Tommy and drag queen Fanny Pak on the Netflix comedy AJ and the Queen , alongside RuPaul, in the episode "Fort Worth".
In August 2020, Minj starred in Drama at Drag Brunch: The Slaying of the Sequin Sisters, the fifth installment of the virtual interactive Broadway Murder Mystery story, portraying the role of Casey Closed. [38]
In October 2021, Minj signed a six-figure book deal with Atria Books to publish her first book, "Southern Fried Sass". [39] In August 2022, she will headline the 40th annual Northalsted Market Days, an annual LGBTQ-friendly street festival. [40]
In 2023 Minj released a stand up comedy special, Bless Your Heart.
Minj is from Florida, [22] and was married to Ceejay Russell by Michelle Visage at a DragCon convention in 2017. [41]
In an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked , Minj stated that they are genderfluid/non-binary, stating that growing up they never knew if they were a boy or a girl and when they discovered genderfluidity and non-binary they finally felt seen. [34] She uses she/her pronouns both in and out of drag. [42]

RuPaul's Drag Race is an American reality competition television series, the first in the Drag Race franchise, produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV, WOW Presents Plus, VH1 and, beginning with the fifteenth season, MTV. The show documents RuPaul in the search for "America's next drag superstar". RuPaul plays the role of host, mentor, and head judge for this series, as contestants are given different challenges each week. Contestants are judged by a panel that includes RuPaul, Michelle Visage, one of three rotating judges, as well as one or more guest judges, who critique their progress throughout the competition. The title of the show is a play on drag queen and drag racing, and the title sequence and song "Drag Race" both have a drag-racing theme.

Airline Inthyrath, known by her stage name Jujubee, is an American drag queen, reality television personality, and recording artist from Lowell, Massachusetts. Alexis Mateo Pacheco, best known as Alexis Mateo, is a Puerto Rican drag queen, performer, reality television personality, fashion designer, and the winner of All American Goddess 2016, Miss Gay Days 2016 and National Showgirl 2017. She became internationally known as a contestant on season three of RuPaul's Drag Race, seasons one and five of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars and season two of Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World. Alexis Mateo is also drag mother of viral sensation and "RuGirl" Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.
Timothy K. Wilcots, better known by the stage name Latrice Royale, is an American drag performer, recording artist, and reality television personality. She is best known for her appearances on the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2012 and on the first and fourth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. She finished fourth on her original season; in its final episode, she was crowned Miss Congeniality. She placed fifth on the fourth season of All Stars.
Bianca Castro, commonly known as Jiggly Caliente, is a Filipino-American drag performer, singer, and actress best known for competing on the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race, the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, for judging Drag Race Philippines, and for her recurring role as Veronica Ferocity on the FX series Pose. She released her debut album, T.H.O.T. Process on March 9, 2018. In 2020, she co-hosted Translation, the first talk show on a major network hosted by an all-trans cast.
RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is an American reality competition spin off edition of the original RuPaul's Drag Race, which is produced by World of Wonder, for Logo TV and later VH1. The show premiered on October 22, 2012, on Logo TV, before relocating to VH1. However, it was announced on February 20, 2020, on the show's official Twitter account that the fifth season would premiere on June 5, 2020, on Showtime. Following the cast announcement on May 8, 2020, producers announced that the show would remain airing on VH1 instead of Showtime due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused "various scheduling and programming adjustments". On February 24, 2021, Paramount+ announced via Twitter that the streaming service would be the new home to the series for the sixth season.

Taylor, known professionally as Trinity "The Tuck" Taylor or just Trinity the Tuck, is an American drag queen, television personality, and recording artist best known for competing on the ninth season of RuPaul's Drag Race and for winning the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, shared with Monét X Change. She went by Trinity "the Tuck" Taylor on her original season, but on the first episode of All Stars, she indicated that she would henceforth go simply by Trinity the Tuck.

Born in Warsaw, Indiana, they began their drag career in 2012. In 2017, Couleé achieved international fame after competing on season nine of RuPaul's Drag Race, placing in the top four. In 2020, Couleé won the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. Couleé later returned to compete on the all-winners seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2022, once again placing in the top four.

Eureka, also known as Eureka O'Hara and Eureka!, is the stage name of Eureka D. Huggard, an American drag queen and reality television personality. Eureka rose to prominence competing on the ninth and tenth seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was removed from the ninth season due to a knee injury, becoming the first contestant in the history of the show to be sent home due to injury; she was then given an automatic berth to season 10, where she placed as runner-up. In 2021, Eureka competed on the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, where she once more placed as a runner-up. In 2024, she competed on the second season of Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World.
Mayhem Miller is the stage name of Dequan Armand Johnson, an American drag performer and actor, best known for competing on the tenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race (2018), the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (2020), and the second series of RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World (2024).
Mo Heart, formerly Monique Heart, is the stage name of Kevin Leandrew Richardson, an American drag queen, reality television personality, and recording artist best known for competing on the tenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race (2018), the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars (2018–2019), and the first series of RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World (2022). Since first appearing on Drag Race in 2018, Mo Heart has appeared in a number of web series produced by World of Wonder, including a starring role in Manic Moments With Monique Heart, and hosted her own podcast, Ace of Hearts with Monique Heart. She is known for competing on the tenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race (2018), on which she placed sixth and was crowned the season's Miss Congeniality, and for winning the fourth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars (2018–2019) alongside Trinity the Tuck. She returned to compete in the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, an all-winners season, where she placed runner-up.
Kylie Sonique Love, formerly known as Sonique, is an American entertainer, singer, dancer, model and reality television personality. She rose to prominence as a contestant on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race in 2009, and achieved further popularity by winning the sixth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars eleven years later in 2021. Love was the first person to ever come out as transgender on any reality TV show. Upon winning All Stars 6, Love became the second trans woman to win an installment of the Drag Race franchise, and was the first to win an American series. Additionally, in 2020, she co-hosted Translation Season 1, the first talk show on a major network hosted by an all-trans cast. Her first single, "Santa, Please Come Home", was released in 2018.

Since her season aired in 2020, Hall has been a staple of several domestic and international tours that feature Drag Race contestants, including Werq the World, A Drag Queen Christmas, and Drive 'N Drag.
