Suzie Toot is the stage name of Benjamin Shaevitz, [1] an American drag performer competing on the seventeenth season of RuPaul's Drag Race .
Shaevitz was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to a Russian Jewish father and an Irish Catholic mother, and was raised Jewish. He attended a Hebrew school and Jewish sleepaway camp in the Pocono Mountains in his youth. His first stage performance was at the age of 8, when he was cast as a part of the ensemble in a summer camp production of Fiddler on the Roof . She was inspired to pursue drag on Halloween after studying Ruby Keeler, Eleanor Powell, Varla Jean Merman, and Charles Busch. [2]

[4] She describes her drag persona as the "cross section between Betty Boop and Lucille Ball". [5] Toot opened for Chappell Roan's Fort Lauderdale show as a part of The Midwest Princess Tour in October 2023. [6] She portrayed Mimi Bouvèé-Truve in the 2023 queer horror film Big Easy Queens, [7] and released a music single featuring Tow, "Bonecoming", that same year. [8]
Shaevitz was formerly based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is now based in New York, New York. [9] [2] He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in musical theatre. [4]
