Sheikh Russell Swimming Pool is a swimming pool for sports events and training at the district level in Bangladesh. It is located inside the Sheikh Russell Stadium Complex in Islampur (Hanumantala), Rangpur city. [2] [3] Like all government sports venues for swimming events in Bangladesh, it is under the National Sports Council and managed by the local Rangpur District Sports Association. [4] After becoming operational, swimming training for boys and girls began. [5]
The Ministry of Youth and Sports (Bangladesh) started a project in 2019 for extensive renovation and development of the Rangpur Stadium Complex, including the construction of a communication center, indoor stadium, players’ dormitories, seminar rooms, conference halls, and press boxes. As part of the further development of the same project, it was decided to build a swimming pool inside the stadium complex. The construction of the swimming pool was completed by Technip Corporation in January 2022, alongside other facilities of the project. The total cost of construction was 10.69 crore Taka. [1] The swimming pool was officially inaugurated on 2 August 2023. [6]
The Sheikh Russell Swimming Pool is an open-air swimming pool with 5 lanes and a length of 25 meters. [1] The pool has a two-story spectator gallery on both sides, a pavilion, and an internal boundary wall. There is an underground water reservoir with a 6-inch deep borewell and a water purification system for the pool's water supply. [2]

Jahangirnagar University Swimming Pool built in 1978, is a swimming sports competition hosting and training swimming pool. It is located in the South of the University Gymnasium. Unlike most sports swimming pools in Bangladesh, it is not affiliated to the National Sports Council. The overall maintenance of the pool is under the management of the physical education department of the university.
Ivy Rahman Swimming Pool is Bangladesh's first swimming sports organizing and training swimming pool. Built in the 1970s, the sports facility belongs to the Bangabandhu National Stadium Complex in Paltan, Dhaka. It is one of the three swimming pools located in Dhaka city. It is affiliated to the National Sports Council, like the official venues for all swimming sports events in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Swimming Federation maintains the pool. Its current name is posthumously named after Ivy Rahman.

It is the main swimming venue in Bangladesh and the third venue within Dhaka city, It is affiliated to the National Sports Council, like the official venues for all swimming sports events in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Swimming Federation maintains the pool. The pool is posthumously named after Syed Nazrul Islam. Due to its location, the facility is known as Mirpur Swimming Complex.
