Silver Oak University is a premier university located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.It was recognized as a University in 2019 by the University Grants Commission. [1] [2] Announced as a State Private University (under Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009) Silver Oak was established in 2009 as an affiliated college and gradually grew into Silver Oak Group of Institutes.It is ranked 7th among top 10 Engineering Colleges in India by The Times of India and awarded as "Most Innovative Engineering College" by 94.3 My FM. The university offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the discipline of Engineering, Management, Arts and Science.
In January 2022, Silver Oak University was the subject of protests against charging its students unlisted fees for ID cards. [3]
On September 7, 2022, Silver Oak University was raided by the Income Tax Department on suspicion of tax evasion and undocumented contributions to political parties. [4] [5] These investigations were conducted shortly before the school's graduation ceremony, expected to be held on the 24th of September. [6] Students have been placed on leave and the campus evacuated as investigations continue on the university's campus. [7] [8]
