The Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE) is a state university located at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. It was established in 2010 by the Government of Gujarat and focuses on teacher education.

History

With a vision of exporting teachers from India, Narendra Modi, serving as Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014, was the main proponent of the institute. The curriculum was designed by a team of experts led by Kireet Joshi.^[1] The institute was established by an act of the Government of Gujarat in 2010.^[2]

Admission process

• Admission to UG and PG Programmes

o All eligible candidates shall have to appear in i3T – Integrated Test for Teacher Trainee conducted by the Indian Institute of Teacher Education (IITE) as per schedule mentioned in admission brochure.

o To qualify in the i3T, the candidate will have to secure minimum 50% marks in the i3T.

o Admission to all UG and PG programmes will be given as per merit list prepared based on marks of i3T only.

Saldi is a village in the Mehsana District, Gujarat, India, Pin Code 382730, situated on State Highway 217 between Gandhinagar and Mehsana. Saldi represents a typical countryside village of India. Smt. Nathiba Hargovandas Lakhmichand (NHL) Municipal Medical College (NHLMMC), is a Municipal Medical College located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India affiliated with the Gujarat University. The Medical College was established by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in 1963, which became only the second Municipal Corporation in India to establish its own Medical College.

Parul University is a private university in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Prior to its incorporation as Parul University under the Gujarat Private Universities Act Second Amendment of 2009, the University’s origins traces back to 1993, with the establishment of the Ahmedabad Homeopathic College. Parul University is situated on a 150-acre campus in Vadodara housing over 50,000 students and has a rich history of achievements, including being Gujarat’s first self-financed institute. Since inception, the University adopted an expansionist strategy that led to the establishment of campuses beyond its original location in Ahmedabad to cities such as Rajkot and culminated in Vadodara in 2003, where the main campus was subsequently established and further plans to expand in North India by opening its career counselling centre in Chandigarh.

Ramaben Ramjibhai Mavani Patel is a lawyer and politician from Gujarat. She was a member of the 8th Lok Sabha.
