Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University is a state university located at Junagadh, Gujarat, India. It was established in 2015 by Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University Act, 2015 of the Government of Gujarat. [2]
Provisionally, the university is made functional in Government Polytechnic Building, Khadiya, which is in close vicinity of 12 kilometers from Junagadh city. The jurisdiction of the University includes Devbhumi Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Junagadh district and Porbandar district.

Kathiawar is a peninsula, near the far north of India's west coast, of about 61,000 km2 (23,500 sq mi) bordering the Arabian Sea. It is bounded by the Gulf of Kutch in the northwest and by the Gulf of Khambhat in the east. In the northeast, it is connected to the rest of Gujarat and borders on the low, fertile hinterland of Ahmedabad. It is crossed by two belts of hill country and is drained radially by nine rivers which have little natural flow aside from in monsoon months, thus dams have been built on some of these. Kathiawar ports have been flourishing centres of trade and commerce since at least the 16th century.
Junagadh is the city and headquarters of Junagadh district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Located at the foot of the Girnar hills, 355 kilometres (221 mi) southwest of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, it is the seventh largest city in the state.
Narsinh Mehta, also known as Narsinh Bhagat, was a 15th-century poet-saint of Gujarat, India, honored as the first poet, or Adi Kavi, of the Gujarati language. Narsinh Mehta is member of Nagar Brahman community. Narsinh became a devotee of Krishna, and dedicated his life to composing poetic works described as bhakti, or devotion towards Krishna. His bhajans have remained popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan for over 5 centuries. Most notably, his composition Vaishnav Jan To was Mahatma Gandhi's favorite and became popular with freedom fighters across India.
Rajendra Keshavlal Shah was a lyrical poet who wrote in Gujarati. Born in Kapadvanj, he authored more than 20 collections of poems and songs, mainly on the themes of the beauty of nature, and about the everyday lives of indigenous peoples and fisherfolk communities. In his poems using Sanskrit metrics, he was influenced by Rabindranath Tagore. He is considered one of the giants of post Gandhi-era in Gujarati literature.
Junagadh district is a district of the Indian state of Gujarat. Its administrative headquarters is the city of Junagadh.

GMERS Medical College and Hospital, Junagadh, established in 2015, is a medical college situated in Junagadh, Gujarat. The college imparts the degree Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). Nursing and para-medical courses are also offered. The college is affiliated with Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University and is recognized by the National Medical Commission. The hospital associated with the college is one of the largest hospitals in the Junagadh. The student selection is based on merit through National Eligibility and Entrance Test. The yearly undergraduate student intake is 150.
Pranav Vinodbhai Pandya is a Gujarati-language writer, poet and columnist from Gujarat, India. In 2013, he received Kavi Ravji Patel Yuva Sahitya Pratibha Award, instituted by Gujarat Samachar. In 2019, the Indian National Theatre awarded him the Shayda Award for his contribution to Gujarati poetry.
Shri Radha Damodar Temple is a Hindu temple, situated in the Junagadh district of Gujarat, India. The temple is dedicated to the Damodar Hari, another name of Hindu god Krishna. In this temple, Damodar ji is worshiped in his four arms form of Lord Vishnu along with the Goddess Radha who is seated next to him in the central shrine. Within the premises of temple, Damodar kund and Revati kund are also present. This temple comes under the special care of the Government of Gujarat.

As an academic, Ambadan served as professor and HOD of Gujarati department at the Saurashtra University as well as presided as the Director of the Meghani Lok Sahitya Kendra which annually awards the Jhaverchand Meghani Award.
