"Softcore" is a song by American alternative band the Neighbourhood from their third studio album The Neighbourhood . It was written in 2017 by the band members Jesse Rutherford, Brandon Fried, Jeremiah Freedman, Zachary Abels and Michael Margott with producer Lars Stalfors. The latter also handled mixing, programming, drum programming and synthesising duties, while Dave Cerminara engineered it at Lankershim in Los Angeles.
Despite never being released as a single, the song received positive reviews from music critics, and has managed to chart worldwide after a resurgence in popularity in 2022, landing at number 65 on the Billboard Global 200 and becoming a sleeper hit, and among some of the band's most popular songs, alongside "Sweater Weather" and "Daddy Issues". It managed to reach the Top 40 in Finland, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Norway, Austria and Switzerland. It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, IFPI Greece and British Phonographic Industry, and Gold by Bundesverband Musikindustrie and Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana.
The song was included in Bravo magazine compilation album Bravo Hits 116, which was released on February 11, 2022.

"It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" is a Christmas song written in 1951 by Meredith Willson. The song was originally titled "It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas". Perry Como was the first to record and release the song in 1951.
"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is a popular Christmas song written in 1963 by Edward Pola and George Wyle. It was recorded and released that year by pop singer Andy Williams for his first Christmas album, The Andy Williams Christmas Album. However, the song was not released as a promotional single by Williams' record label that year, as they instead opted to promote his cover of "White Christmas" as the official promo single from the album. "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" has consistently made it onto pop singles charts around the world in the 2010s and 2020s. "Sweater Weather" reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Airplay chart in June 2013, logging eleven non-consecutive weeks at the summit of the chart. Pentatonix covered the song for their 2018 album Christmas Is Here! with an accompanying music video. The song was also covered by Kurt Hugo Schneider, Alyson Stoner, and Max S in 2014. In mid-to-late 2020, the song experienced a resurgence in popularity due to it being used on the social media platform TikTok. The song gained over 5 million on-demand streams on Spotify within the month of November 2020. As of 26 November 2024, the song is the 8th most streamed on Spotify. In late 2023, for the 35th anniversary of Alternative Airplay, Billboard ranked the song as the 15th-most successful in the chart's history.

The Neighbourhood is an American alternative rock band formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011. The band is composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, and bassist Mikey Margott. Drummer Brandon Fried was also part of the band from 2014 until 2022. After releasing two EPs, I'm Sorry... and Thank You, the Neighbourhood signed with Columbia Records to release their debut studio album, I Love You. (2013). "Sweater Weather", the album's third single, became their sole entry Billboard Hot 100—peaking at number 14—and re-surged in popularity nearly a decade later on radio airplay and Spotify. Other notable hits from the band include "Daddy Issues", "Softcore", "You Get Me So High", "Reflections" and "The Beach".
