The Neighbourhood is the third studio album by American alternative band The Neighbourhood. It was released on March 9, 2018, by Columbia Records. [6] [2] It was preceded by two EPs: Hard, which was released on September 22, 2017, [7] and To Imagine, released on January 12, 2018. [8] The tracks from the extended plays that were not finally included on the album were compiled in another EP called Hard to Imagine. [9] These tracks were also released in an additional disc on the digital deluxe edition of the album. [6] An edition known as Hard to Imagine the Neighbourhood Ever Changing was released on November 2, 2018, and included all of the EPs' contents and all but two songs from the original album.

Contents

Singles

The lead single, "Scary Love" [10] was premiered as December 4, 2017's Zane Lowe's World Record [11] and properly released on digital platforms the next day. [12] To promote the track, the band performed it at The Late Late Show with James Corden on February 20, 2018 [13] and premiered its official music video starring Tommy Wiseau the album's release day, on March 9, 2018. [14] [10]

Before the album's release, two tracks were made available with its pre-order; "Void" on February 16, 2018 [15] and "Nervous" on March 2, 2018. [16]

The Neighbourhood is an American alternative rock band formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011. The band is composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, and bassist Mikey Margott. Drummer Brandon Fried was also part of the band from 2014 until 2022. After releasing two EPs, I'm Sorry... and Thank You, the Neighbourhood released its debut album I Love You. in 2013 via Columbia Records. The album was preceded by their 2012 single "Sweater Weather"—their only single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 14 in 2013 and re-surging in popularity nearly a decade later on radio airplay and Spotify from becoming a viral phenomenon on TikTok.
