Sunnyside Township was originally called Riverside Township. [3]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.6 square miles (92.3 km2), all land.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 143 people, 57 households, and 44 families residing in the township. The population density was 4.0 people per square mile (1.5/km2). There were 68 housing units at an average density of 1.9/sq mi (0.7/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 97.20% White, 0.70% Native American, and 2.10% from two or more races.
There were 57 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.7% were married couples living together, 1.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.8% were non-families. 19.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.86.
In the township the population was spread out, with 23.1% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 15.4% who were 65 years of age or older.
