The Reunion Tour is a concert tour by American rock band System of a Down, celebrating the band's reunion, after going on hiatus in 2006. [1]
Following several weeks of internet rumors, the reunion of the band was officially announced on November 29, 2010, when several European festival dates in June 2011 were announced. [2] Later, the band confirmed a show in Moscow, Russia on June 21, 2011. [3] More European dates were later announced, with several North American headlining dates for May 2011 being announced on March 1, 2011. [4] On March 21, 2011, the band announced a concert in Irvine, California, on May 25, 2011. [5]
On February 9, 2011, Shavo Odadjian posted on his Twitter profile: "Just finished up our first rehearsal in 5 years. Amazing! !! I love my band." [6]
On April 7, 2011, System of a Down commented on their official website: "We want to know which songs you most want to hear on the road this summer. As a reward for telling us your top 6 setlist requests, one winner from each tour city will win a pair of tickets to his/her local show. They will also win a setlist from the show they attended, signed by all of us." [7] [8] On April 19, 2011, posted this: "For each date of the upcoming SOAD North American and EU Headline Tour, we are auctioning a pair of tickets, plus a personal lunch with John Dolmayan. All proceeds will benefit Music For Relief's Earthquake and Tsunami Relief efforts in Japan. [...] In addition, John will be auctioning off his personal drum kit at the end of the tour. The kit will be autographed by John and a collection of other noted drummers... More details coming soon." [9]
On May 6, 2011, the band confirmed a show in Brazil, Rock in Rio Festival, on October 2, 2011, [10] and in July, the band announced four headline shows in Latin America, with one more show in Brazil, and one in Mexico, Argentina and Chile. [11] [12]
On May 14, 2011, The Pulse of Radio, made an interview with the band's drummer John Dolmayan. He was said about the band's five-year hiatus, "I personally don't like breaks - I like to continue playing. But it was nice to go off and be John Dolmayan, as opposed to John from System, for a while. I think everybody had similar feelings." [13]
Asked in October 2011 whether System of a Down will record a new album, drummer John Dolmayan replied, "We're gonna take it day by day. We still have a few more shows to do in South America — we're playing in Buenos Aires and we're playing Santiago, so we're looking forward to that. And then we're gonna go home. We don't generally work during Christmas and New Year's — that's a time for our family and stuff — so we'll be home for the next three or four months. And then Serj takes off and goes to New Zealand for a couple of months — he lives part time in New Zealand. And then I think he's got another solo album coming out next summer. So you might see System touring next summer, you might not. But for the people who are waiting for an album — I know there's a lot of people waiting for an album; I'm waiting for an album just like they are. It's gonna happen when it's right and when we can make something that tops what we've done in the past. Because we don't really wanna rest on our laurels — where what you've done in the past is what you depend on. Well, I don't wanna do that, and I know the rest of the guys don't wanna do that. Instead of resting on our laurels, we wanna throw them away and create something new and specific for this generation that they can say that's their System of a Down." [14]
System of a Down was going to be one of the headliners for 2012's Soundwave festival. [15] This was the first visit in Australia in seven years. Besides the Soundwave festival dates, the band was play three headlining shows in Oceania. [16] [17] The band was headlining the 2012's Heavy MTL Festival in Montreal and Heavy T.O. Festival in Toronto. [18]
On April 23, 2012, System of a Down announced a slate of North American tour dates with special guest, Deftones. [19]
The band played on the 2013's Kubana Festival in Russia, the Getaway Rock Festival in Sweden, the Jurassic Rock Festival in Finland, the Aerodrome Festival in Prague, the Frequency Festival in Austria, the Rock 'N' Heim and Rock im Pott Festivals in Germany, the Rock en Seine in Paris, the Reading and Leeds Festivals in the UK and also play in Poland, the Netherlands and Italy in August. On November 10, 2014, System of a Down announced that they will be headlining Night One of KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas on December 13, 2014 at the Los Angeles Forum. [21]
On November 17, 2014, they announced two more headlining shows: the Olympisky Stadium in Moscow, Russia on April 20, 2015 [22] and the Rock in Rio festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on September 24, 2015. [23]

System of a Down is an Armenian-American heavy metal band formed in Glendale, California, in 1994. Since 1997, the band has consisted of founding members Serj Tankian ; Daron Malakian ; Shavo Odadjian ; along with John Dolmayan (drums), who replaced original drummer Andy Khachaturian in 1997.
Serj Tankian is an Armenian-American musician and activist. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the alternative metal band System of a Down, which was formed in 1994.
Shavarsh "Shavo" Odadjian is an Armenian-American musician, best known as the bassist of heavy metal band System of a Down. He also plays bass in a trap group called North Kingsley and in the metal band Seven Hours After Violet.
John Dolmayan is a Lebanese-born Armenian-American musician, best known as the drummer of System of a Down. He is also the former drummer for Scars on Broadway. Dolmayan ranked number 33 on Loudwire's list of Top 200 Hard Rock + Metal Drummers of All Time.
Daron Malakian is an Armenian-American musician. He is the guitarist, songwriter, and second vocalist of the metal band System of a Down, and the lead vocalist, lead guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter of Scars on Broadway.
"B.Y.O.B." is a song by American heavy metal band System of a Down. It was released in March 2005 as the lead single from their fourth album Mezmerize. Like their earlier song Boom!, it was written in protest against the Iraq War. The song reached number 27 on the US Billboard Hot 100, the band's only top 40 hit.
"Toxicity" is a song by the American heavy metal band System of a Down. It was released in 2002, as the second single from their second album of the same name. The writing credits for the song are Malakian, Odadjian, and Tankian. It is known for its dynamic chorus, aggressive vocals, and prominent drum beat. The song is predominantly in triple meter, alternating between 6

8 and 4
4 time. The guitar during the verse plays in 6
4 using a 2+2+2 phrasing while the heavy part makes use of a hemiola with the guitar switching to a 3+3+3+3 pattern while the drums remain in compound duple meter until the bridge. The song was ranked number 14 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal Songs, and was called a nu metal classic by Stylus Magazine.
"Innervision" is a song by American heavy metal band System of a Down, released as a promotional single from their third studio album, Steal This Album! (2002).
Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway is an American rock band founded by Daron Malakian of the metal band System of a Down, who also became the sole member of the band. The band's self-titled debut album was released in July 2008.
Soundwave was an annual music festival held in major cities around Australia, run and promoted by Soundwave Touring. The festival originated in Perth, Western Australia, and began travelling to the other Australian capital cities in 2007. It featured a number of international and Australian music acts from various genres, including rock, metal and punk. The festival has been headlined by Deftones, the Offspring, Incubus, Alice in Chains, Bloodhound Gang, Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Jimmy Eat World, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Queens of the Stone Age, the Smashing Pumpkins, System of a Down, Slipknot, Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Blink-182 and Metallica.
Achozen is a supergroup by System of a Down bassist Shavo Odadjian, Wu-Tang Clan member RZA, Killarmy member Kinetic 9, and Wu-Tang Clan affiliate Reverend William Burke. Their debut album has been completed and set for release for several years now, and it is unknown when or if the album will be released, considering Odadjian's commitments to System of a Down, who reunited in 2011. In July 2015, the group released a boombox digital collection of 8 songs recorded over the last few years. A standard album is still in the making, though songs are already available. After both Wu-Tang and System of a Down organized their respective reunions, material was released.
The Sonisphere Festival was a touring rock music festival which took place across Europe between the months of June and August. The festival was owned by John Jackson and Kilimanjaro Live. It was jointly promoted by K2 and Kilimanjaro Live. It hosted heavy metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Slayer, Judas Priest, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold and Babymetal.
Franky Perez is an American musician best known as a solo artist, touring vocalist of the Finnish metal band Apocalyptica, and as former guitarist for Scars on Broadway. He has also released three solo albums, Poor Man's Son, My 4th of July, and Addict, and performed with guitarist Slash in his live band before Slash assembled the touring band that backed him during his first full solo tour with Myles Kennedy. Perez has also collaborated with Slash's Velvet Revolver bandmate Dave Kushner, releasing songs under the pseudonym of DKFXP, as well as the virtual band Pusher Jones, contributing the song "Count Me Out" to The Avengers soundtrack.
The Hellbilly Deluxe 2 World Tour was a worldwide concert tour by American rock band Rob Zombie that began in October 2009 in support of his fourth studio album Hellbilly Deluxe 2. The tour consisted of 12 legs spanning across Japan, North America, Europe and Australia. The tour marked the first time Zombie has performed internationally since the beginning of his solo career.
The Screaming Bloody Murder Tour is a concert tour by rock band Sum 41, taking place between 2010–11 and resuming again in 2012, in support of their fifth full-length studio album Screaming Bloody Murder.
Blackdiamondskye was a 2010 North American concert tour headlined by American rock band Alice in Chains featuring special guests Deftones and Mastodon. Blackdiamondskye is a portmanteau of the three band's then-most recent albums: Alice in Chains' Black Gives Way to Blue (2009), Deftones' Diamond Eyes (2010), and Mastodon's Crack the Skye (2009). The tour began on September 16, 2010 in Chicago and concluded on October 16, 2010 in Las Vegas.
The Memorial World Tour was a concert tour by American heavy metal band Slipknot in honor of late bassist Paul Gray who died on May 24, 2010. The tour was the group's first since the All Hope Is Gone World Tour which ended in 2009. The tour consisted mostly of festival dates and a small number of headlining appearances.

Supports in the first leg of Europe was come from the bands Bring Me the Horizon, Devildriver and Darkest Hour. Robb Flynn made a statement saying that: "This will no doubt be the heaviest show you're going to see this year. A lot of the greatest shows of our last touring cycle were in Europe and the UK, so the prospect of this lineup combined with these crowds has us extremely stoked to get out there and tear it up! New material, great venues, killer fans... we absolutely cannot wait!"
The Wake Up the Souls Tour was a concert tour by American rock band System of a Down, which commenced in April 2015. The tour was to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide and raise awareness of the events which saw roughly 1.5 million Armenians killed by the Ottoman Empire government in 1915.
Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington was a tribute concert by American rock band Linkin Park, held on October 27, 2017, at the Hollywood Bowl in order to honor their frontman Chester Bennington who died by suicide on July 20, 2017. It was Linkin Park's only live performance following Bennington's death until the band's reformation in 2024, and their final concert to include drummer Rob Bourdon, who did not rejoin the band following its hiatus, and lead guitarist Brad Delson, who has not toured with the band since its reunion, although he remains an official member. The concert featured various artists, including Blink-182 members of System of a Down, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Machine Gun Kelly, Sum 41, Bring Me the Horizon, Civil Twilight, A Day to Remember, Yellowcard, and Kiiara.
