The women's doubles tennis event at the 2024 Summer Olympics is scheduled to take place from 27 July to 4 August 2024 at the Stade Roland Garros, in Paris, France. [1] There will be 64 players (32 teams) from 21 nations. [2]

Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková are the reigning champions from 2020.

Qualification

Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter up to two teams. Qualification for the women's doubles is primarily through the WTA ranking list. There are 32 quota places available for women's doubles. [2]

Competition format

The competition is a single-elimination tournament with a bronze medal match. Matches are best-of-3 sets. A tiebreak is played in the first two sets reaching 6–6, while the third set will be a single tiebreak until one team scores ten points, while being two points clear. [3]

The Czech Republic's Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Switzerland's Belinda Bencic and Viktorija Golubic in the final, 7–5, 6–1 to win the gold medal in women's doubles tennis at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was the Czech Republic's first victory in women's doubles, and its third consecutive medal. In the bronze medal match, Brazil's Laura Pigossi and Luisa Stefani defeated Veronika Kudermetova and Elena Vesnina of the Russian Olympic Committee, 4–6, 6–4, [11–9]. It was Brazil's first Olympic tennis medal.

Defending champion Tímea Babos and her partner Kristina Mladenovic defeated Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–4, 7–5 to win the doubles tennis title at the 2018 WTA Finals.

Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka defeated Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–3, 6–2, to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2019 Indian Wells Masters.

The 2021 French Open was a major level tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was held at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France, from 30 May to 13 June 2021, comprising singles, doubles and mixed doubles play. The qualifiers took place from 24 May to 28 May. Junior and wheelchair tournaments also took place. Rafael Nadal was the four-time defending champion in men's singles, and Iga Świątek was the defending champion in women's singles.

This is a list of the main career statistics of professional Czech tennis player Barbora Krejčíková. She is known for good results and titles in all three events: singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Until 2021, she been known mostly for her great results in doubles and mixed doubles. Her big progress in singles came during the season of 2021, when among many good results, she won her first Women's Tennis Association (WTA) singles title, first Grand Slam singles title and also being ranked as No. 3. The following year she had the chance to be world No. 1 after the Australian Open but she missed that opportunity. A month later, she climbed to place No. 2 as her career-highest. At the 2023 Dubai Championships, she won her first WTA 1000 title and in that way collected at least one title from all categories in either singles or doubles – only missing Year-end championships title in singles. Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated the defending champion Elise Mertens and her partner Zhang Shuai in the final, 6–2, 6–4 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. It was their second Wimbledon title together and fifth major title together overall.

Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Caty McNally and Taylor Townsend in the final, 3–6, 7–5, 6–1 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2022 US Open. With the win, they became the first women's pair to complete the career Super Slam in doubles. It was their sixth major title together.

Veronika Kudermetova and Elise Mertens defeated the defending champions Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková in the final, 6–2, 4–6, [11–9] to win the doubles tennis title at the 2022 WTA Finals. Mertens became the first Belgian WTA Finals doubles champion.
