Italy's Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini defeated the Individual Neutral Athletes' Mirra Andreeva and Diana Shnaider in the final, 2–6, 6–1, [10–7] to win the gold medal in women's doubles tennis at the 2024 Summer Olympics. [1] It was Italy's first Olympic gold medal in tennis, and Errani completed the career Golden Slam (becoming the seventh woman to do so, after the Williams sisters, Pam Shriver, Gigi Fernández, Barbora Krejčíková, and Kateřina Siniaková) and became the oldest player to win an Olympic tennis gold. [2] In the bronze medal match, Spain's Cristina Bucșa and Sara Sorribes Tormo defeated Czechia's Karolína Muchová and Linda Nosková, 6–2, 6–2. It was Spain's first Olympic medal in women's tennis since 2008. [3]
The women's doubles tennis event at the 2024 Summer Olympics took place from 27 July to 4 August 2024 at the Stade Roland Garros, in Paris, France. [4] There were 64 players (32 teams) from 21 nations. [5]
Krejčíková and Siniaková were the defending champions from 2020, but lost in the quarterfinals to Andreeva and Shnaider. [6] Andreeva went on to become the second youngest player to win an Olympic tennis medal at the age of 17 years, 3 months and 6 days (after Jennifer Capriati, who won Olympic gold at the women's singles event in 1992 at the age of 16 years and 132 days). Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter up to two teams. Qualification for the women's doubles is primarily through the WTA ranking list. There are 32 quota places available for women's doubles. [5]
The competition was a single-elimination tournament with a bronze medal match. Matches are best-of-3 sets. A tiebreak was played in the first two sets reaching 6–6, while the third set was be a single tiebreak until one team scores ten points, while being two points clear. [7]

Anna Karolína Schmiedlová is a Slovak professional tennis player. She has won three singles titles on the WTA Tour, two singles titles on the WTA Challenger Tour as well as 12 singles titles on the ITF Circuit. On 12 October 2015, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 26.
Kateřina Siniaková is a Czech professional tennis player. She has been ranked as high as World No. 1 in doubles and No. 27 in singles by the WTA.
Barbora Krejčíková is a Czech professional tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2, achieved on 28 February 2022, and became World No. 1 in doubles on 22 October 2018. She is known for her aggressive playing style and her smooth, powerful groundstrokes.

This marked the first time since 2013 that the top two seeds contested the Madrid Open final. It was also the first time since 2000 that the top two players on the WTA Tour contested back-to-back finals, after Świątek won in Stuttgart the week prior.

The women's tournament took place from February 18 to 24, and the men's tournament from February 26 to March 2.
Iga Świątek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. It was her eighth WTA 1000 and 19th career WTA Tour title, and she did not lose a set en route. Świątek became the first woman to win multiple titles at Indian Wells since Victoria Azarenka in 2016, and just the tenth woman to do so overall. She was the first player since Maria Sharapova in 2013 to win the title without dropping a set, and lost just 21 games throughout the entire tournament; this was the fewest since Steffi Graf lost 16 games in 1994. The final was a rematch of the 2022 final, which Świątek also won.
Cristina Bucșa and Sara Sorribes Tormo defeated Barbora Krejčíková and Laura Siegemund in the final, 6–0, 6–2 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2024 Madrid Open. It was the first WTA 1000 doubles title for Bucșa and second for Sorribes Tormo, and Bucșa's second and Sorribes Tormo's third career WTA Tour doubles title. They became the first all-Spanish pair to win the tournament.

It was the 38th edition of the tournament and part of the WTA 500 tournaments of the 2024 WTA Tour. It took place at the Tennis Club de Strasbourg between 19 and 25 May 2024.
Coco Gauff and Kateřina Siniaková defeated Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–3 to win the women's doubles tennis title at the 2024 French Open. It was Gauff's first major women's doubles title and Siniaková's eighth.
Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend defeated Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe in the final, 7–6(7–5), 7–6(7–1) to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships. It was the first major women's doubles title for Townsend and ninth for Siniaková, the latter of whom completed the Channel Slam.
