Thomas Samuel Pratt (born June 21, 1935) is an American football coach in the National Football League (NFL). [1] [2] [3] He played college football at the University of Miami and attended Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit, Wisconsin. He has been a coach in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League since 1963. [4]

Early years

Pratt played high school football at Beloit Memorial High School. He earned all-state honors as a guard in 1952 while the team went undefeated. [5]

College career

Pratt played offensive guard and linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes from 1953 to 1956, earning All-American honors at linebacker his senior year in 1956. [6] [7] He graduated from Miami with a degree in education in 1957. He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 1991. [6]

Coaching career

Pratt was an assistant coach for the Miami Hurricanes at the University of Miami from 1957 to 1960. [6] He was the head freshman coach in 1957. He was then the coach of varsity guards and linebackers for the next three years. [7] Pratt served as line coach for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1961 to 1962. [6] [7] [8] Pratt was the defensive line coach for the Kansas City Chiefs from 1963 to 1977, helping the team win the AFL championship in 1966 and 1969 while also winning Super Bowl IV. [6] He served as defensive line coach of the New Orleans Saints from 1978 to 1980. [6] He was defensive line coach of the Cleveland Browns from 1981 to 1988. [6] Pratt served as defensive line coach of the Kansas City Chiefs from 1989 to 1994. [6] He was defensive line coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1995. [6]

Pratt served as defensive line coach of the Coast Guard Bears at the United States Coast Guard Academy in 1997. [6] [9] He served as a football ambassador in Osaka, Japan for the Asahi Challengers of the X-League from 1998 to 1999. He returned to help the Challengers win the Japan Super Bowl in 2000. [6] He returned to the Chiefs as the assistant defensive line coach in 2000. [6] Pratt became pass rush specialist for the Arizona Cardinals in 2013. [10] [11] [6] He had previously spent three years as a defensive coordinator consultant with IMG Academy prior to joining the Cardinals. [6]

Personal life

Pratt has also spent time as a consultant to Kyoto University. [6] [12]

A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Porter won Super Bowl XL with the Steelers and was also a member of the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals. The Steelers drafted his son, Joey Porter Jr., with the thirty-second overall selection of the 2023 NFL draft.

Lawrence Edward Foote Jr. is an American football coach and former player who currently serves as the de facto co-defensive coordinator, pass game coordinator and inside linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Foote previously served as the linebackers coach for the Arizona Cardinals from 2015 to 2018. He played in the NFL as a linebacker for 13 season. Foote played college football for the Michigan Wolverines and was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2002 NFL draft.

Todd Robert Bowles is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Jason Licht is an American football executive who is the general manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL), a position he has held since 2014. Before joining the Bucs in 2014, Licht worked for the NFL's Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals. In his 26-year executive career, Licht has appeared in 5 Super Bowls, winning 2 of them with the Patriots in 2002 and Buccaneers in 2021, both led by Tom Brady. His other appearances were in 2005 with the Eagles, 2009 with the Cardinals, and 2012 with the Patriots.

Brian Francisco Flores is an American football coach who is the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He began his NFL career with the New England Patriots, where he served as an assistant coach from 2008 to 2018. Flores was New England's defensive playcaller during his final season coaching for the team, which concluded with a victory in Super Bowl LIII. Following the victory, he served as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2019 to 2021.

He has also coached at Michigan State, Stanford, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, and Indiana as well as the professional level with the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL).
