TruStar is an Indian low-cost airline promoted by Turbo Aviation based in Hyderabad. The airline plans to launch operations by the second quarter of 2020 with Dornier 228 aircraft. [1]
In December 2019, Turbo Aviation announced that it had secured a £100-million ($133.64 million) investment from a Business Group based in the UK for the launch of commuter air services under the third place of the UDAN scheme. The airline plans to start operations with the routes they have secured under UDAN. The airline plans to have a fleet of 10 ATR-72s, 10 Airbus A320 and 4 Dornier 228 aircraft. [2] In January 2019, under the third round of the Governments Regional Connectivity Scheme, [3] the airline had been awarded four routes in Uttar Pradesh, [4] three routes across the States of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Goa. [5] [6] The airline will be the launch customer of the Dornier 228NG built in India at Kanpur by HAL into scheduled commercial services. [2]
The Dornier 228 is a twin-turboprop STOL utility aircraft, designed and first manufactured by Dornier GmbH from 1981 until 1998. Two hundred and forty-five were built in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. In 1983, Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) bought a production licence and manufactured another 125 aircraft in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. In July 2017, 63 aircraft were still in airline service.

Deccan Technical Services, the maintenance unit of Deccan Charters, maintains helicopters on behalf of 50 Indian corporates such as Reliance Industries and Essar Group. Their Mumbai centre is the authorised customer service centre to support Sikorsky S-76 helicopters. In March 2017, the firm bagged 21 regional air routes under the Indian Government's regional connectivity scheme, UDAN.
Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, also known as Guwahati Airport and formerly as 'Borjhar Airport', is the primary airport of the North-Eastern states of India. It is the 11th busiest airport in India. It is located at Borjhar, 26 km (16 mi) from Dispur, the capital city of the state of Assam and 28 km (18 mi) from Guwahati and is named after Late Gopinath Bordoloi, a freedom fighter and the first Chief Minister of Assam after India's independence. Kadapa Airport is a regional airport located 12 km (7.5 mi) north west of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh, India. It is spread over 669.5 acres (270.9 ha) of land and has been upgraded at a cost of Rs. 42 crore. The upgraded airport was inaugurated on 7 June 2015 by Indian Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju. The terminal building has a capacity to handle 100 peak hour passengers at a time and the apron can accommodate two ATR-72 type of aircraft.

MASwings Sdn Bhd is a regional airline operating the Rural Air Services (RAS) in East Malaysia. It took over the routes operated by FlyAsianXpress (2006-2007) and the RAS flights by Malaysia Airlines (1965-2006). Vayudoot was a regional airline in India established on 20 January 1981 as a joint-venture between the two state-owned carriers, Indian Airlines and Air India. UDAN-RCS, UDAN is a regional airport development and "Regional Connectivity Scheme" (RCS) of Government of India, with the objective of "letting the common citizen of the country fly", aimed at making air travel affordable and widespread, to boost inclusive national economic development, job growth and air transport infrastructure development of all regions and states of India. At the beginning of the scheme, out of total 486 airports, 406 were participating unserved airports, 27 were well served airports out of 97 non-RCS airports and 12 were operational airports out of 18 participating underserved regional operational airports with regular fixed-wing scheduled flights. UDAN scheme will add to this number by expediting the development and operationalisation of India's potential-target of nearly 425 unserved, underserved, and mostly underdeveloped regional airports with regular scheduled flights. However, there are several issues and criticisms such as poor infrastructure, dominance by larger airlines and degradation of regional airlines, slow implementation that plague this scheme.
Fly Hornbill was a planned Indian Regional airline to be based in Guwahati.The airline was founded in 2016 and planned to start operations in early 2017 to provide air connectivity to North-Eastern destinations in India in place of Air India's subsidiary Alliance Air. However, as of September 2017 operations are yet to begin and any aircraft is yet to be acquired. The airline was seeking approvals from India's aviation regulator DGCA to start operations. The airline has also won the rights to operate flights on many Northeastern routes under the UDAN-RCS scheme. The airline however did not start operations and appears to have shutdown.
Star Air is an Indian commuter airline based at Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, Karnataka. It started operations in January 2019, offering flights within Karnataka state as well as to neighboring Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, as part of the Central Government's UDAN scheme. The airline makes use of Embraer 145 LRs for its services.

It is the second commercial airport in the Delhi NCR after Indira Gandhi International Airport The airport was primarily built to handle flights operating under the Government's regional connectivity scheme and hence reducing the burden of regional flights from Delhi's main airport. As of 2019, there are two airlines operating regional flights from the airport.
