The Tyrell Football League (TFL) was an Australian rules football and competition that finished in 1978 with clubs based in the Mallee region of Victoria, Australia. The league featured three grades in the Australian rules football competition, being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 16s (starting in 1966).

History

The Tyrrell Football League was formed in 1946 and competed through to 1978 until the league folded and all clubs joined new and neighbouring leagues in the area.

The 1908 NSWRFL season was the inaugural season of the New South Wales Rugby Football League's premiership, Australia's first rugby league football club competition, in which nine clubs competed from April till August 1908. The Central Coast Division of Country Rugby League is a rugby league competition based on the Central Coast of New South Wales between Sydney and Newcastle. It is currently ran by Terrigal Junior and longtime volunteer Ben Spackman he has been president for both Terrigal junior and senior clubs and has coached multiple teams throughout his years at the club. Spackman has been running the central coast competition for multiple years now and has made significant changes to the central coast competitions. It was founded in 1947 as a junior competition for the Newcastle club, Lakes United. In 1967, it was upgraded again to full membership of the Country Rugby League as Group 12. In 1981, it was renamed Central Coast Division. The division covers the entire region of the Central Coast from Woy Woy and Umina in the south up to Budgewoi and Gwandalan in the north.

In 1975, Brighton Methodist FC shifted to Mawson High School Oval and in 1977 was renamed the Brighton Tigers Football Club. In 1978 Brighton Tigers FC joined the Glenelg South Football Association and the following year was renamed to Flagstaff Hill Football Club.

The Hackham Football Club is an Australian rules football club first formed in 1976. In 1977, Hackham initially started in the Southern Football League Division 3 competition playing against C-Grade teams of some of the stronger clubs before becoming an inaugural member of the restructured Division 2 competition in 1978. Promotion to Division 1 was achieved in 1984, but its first attempt at the top division did not last long, dropping back down to the second division at the end of the 1986 season. Hackham once again were promoted to Division 1 in 1992 and remained within that division until 2016, dropping to the C-Grade competition from 2017.

The competition that finished in 1996 with only five clubs based in the Mallee region of Victoria, Australia and eventually merged with the Southern Mallee Football League to form the Mallee Football League (Victoria). The league featured three grades in the Australian rules football competition, being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 16s.

The Mount Lofty District Football Club is an Australian rules football team based in the eastern suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in late 1978 as a merger between the former Stirling Football Club and Heathfield-Aldgate United Football Club. Adopting the moniker of "Mountain Devils", Mount Lofty initially joined the South Australian Football Association (SAFA) competition in the 1979 season and participated in that league until the end of the 1985 season. In 1986, Mount Lofty joined the Hills Football League and currently continue to field teams in both Senior and Junior grades in that competition.
