Unine (stylized as UNINE) was a nine-member Chinese boy band active from April 2019 to October 2020. [1]

Contents

The band was formed by a TV show called Youth with You. The group consisted of Li Wenhan, Li Zhenning, Yao Mingming, Guan Yue, Jia Yi, Hu Chunyang, Xia Hanyu, Chen Youwei, and He Changxi. [2]

History

Unine was formed through the reality survival television show Youth With You, which aired from January 21 to April 6, 2019. It was the second edition of Idol Producer . Out of the 100 trainees, only 9 were to debut through audience votings. In the final episode the debut lineup was announced, in which Li Wenhan had come in first place, followed by Li Zhenning, Yao Mingming, Guan Yue, Jia Yi, Hu Chunyang, Xia Hanyu, Chen Youwei and He Changxi respectively. Prior to Unine, Li Wenhan debuted in the Chinese-South Korean boy band Uniq in 2014. He also made his acting debut in 2016.

Yao Mingming trained with SEVENTEEN and appeared in Seventeen TV. He was also a contestant in a South Korean survival show Mix Nine, but failed to debut in 10th place. Afterwards, he joined South Korean boy band BLK on November 28, 2017, but the group disbanded on September 17, 2018. [4]

Unine released their first EP, UNLOCK, on May 6, 2019, and their second, UNUSUAL, on October 21, 2019. The group performed title song "Set It Off" at the 2019 Mnet Asian Music Awards' Red Carpet Special Stage. [5]

Unine released their album U-Night Flight of 11 songs on May 6, 2020, and, before their disbandment, the EP UNFORGETTABLE on September 30, 2020. [6] The group officially disbanded on October 6, 2020.

Endorsements

On 6 April, after their debut, PD Lay Zhang and guest host He Jiong announced the group's logo and that Unine would be the ambassador of 蒙牛真果粒. [7]

Unine were also announced as endorsers of SASELOMO and 海豚家 in 2019. [8] [9]

Li Wenhan is a Chinese singer and actor. He is best known as the lead singer of UNIQ, a Chinese-South Korean boy group formed by Yuehua Entertainment in 2014. In 2019, he participated in the Chinese survival program, Youth With You, finished 1st place, and debuted in Unine.

Li Landi, also known as Landy Li, is a Chinese actress, singer and model of Hui ethnicity. She also starred in 2019 Chinese film Adoring. She is best known for her roles in the dramas My Huckleberry Friends (2017), Wu Xin: The Monster Killer 2 (2017), Never Gone (2018), Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty (2019), and Don't Disturb My Study (2021). In 2009, 10-year-old Li Landi made her film debut in "Who Did You Lose To", and thus set foot in the film and television industry. Youth With You, also known by its Chinese title Qīng Chūn Yǒu Nǐ or simply QCYN, is a 2019 Chinese male group survival show that premiered on January 21, 2019 on iQIYI. Called Idol Producer Season 2 before filming, it is the second edition of the 2018 male competition show Idol Producer, and the first edition of the survival show Youth With You. It is presented by Lay Zhang, with Li Ronghao, Jolin Tsai, MC Jin, The8, and After Journey serving as the coaches. The show brought together 100 trainees from different entertainment agencies, and only nine of all trainees were selected to debut through viewers' votes. On April 6, 2019, the final nine contestants debuted as UNINE.

<i>Youth With You</i> season 2 2020 Chinese girl group competition show

Youth With You, is a Chinese girl group reality competition show, which premiered on 12 March 2020 on video streaming platform iQiYi. The show is presented by Cai Xukun, with Lisa, Jony J, and Ella Chen serving as the mentors. The show introduces 109 female trainees from different companies, who are voted for by viewers. The Top 9 trainees with the most votes in the final episode debuted in the Chinese girl group The9.

Xie Keyin is a Chinese actress, rapper and songwriter. She is best known for finishing 5th in the survival show Youth with You 2, making her a member of The9. The9 officially disbanded on December 5, 2021 and Xie Keyin became a solo artist.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Liu Yuxin (singer)</span> Chinese singer, rapper and dancer (born 1997)

Liu Yuxin, known in English as Xin Liu, is a Chinese singer, dancer and producer born in Guizhou Province. She rose to fame as the top contestant of iQiyi's survival reality program Youth With You 2, finishing first and becoming the center of the girl group The9.[1] In late 2021, Xin began her solo career. Her album "Epsilon" and "Xanadu" tops Chinese billboards. Xin is also the very first female captain of Street Dance of China.

Xu Xinwen is a Chinese singer, dancer, and actress under Show City Times. She is known for participating in the 2020 girl group survival show Youth With You 2 and the 2018 survival show The Next Top Bang.
