Peter René Baumann, better known under his stage name DJ BoBo, is a Swiss singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer, and music producer. He has sold 14 million records worldwide and has released 12 studio albums as well as a few compilation albums which have included his previous hits in a reworked format. BoBo has also released as many as 34 singles to date, some of which have charted high not only in German speaking countries, but also in other European territories.
"Hard Rock Hallelujah" is a song by Finnish hard rock band Lordi. It was released as a single in 2006, reaching the No. 1 spot in Finland and reaching the top 10 in eight other European countries. In the United Kingdom, the song peaked at No. 25.
"The Voice" was the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1996, performed in English by Eimear Quinn representing Ireland. The music was composed, and the lyrics were written, by Brendan Graham, who had also written and composed "Rock 'N' Roll Kids", the Irish winner from the 1994 contest. The victory, which was Ireland's fourth in five years, was their seventh contest victory, which remains a record for the most contests won by a single country.
"Fly on the Wings of Love" is a song by Danish pop-rock duo Olsen Brothers, which was the winner of Eurovision Song Contest 2000, performed for Denmark in English.
Germany participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with the song "Can't Wait Until Tonight" written by Stefan Raab. The song was performed by Max. The German entry for the 2004 contest in Istanbul, Turkey was selected through the national final Germany 12 Points!, organised by the German broadcaster ARD in collaboration with Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). The national final took place on 19 March 2004 and featured ten competing acts with the winner being selected through two rounds of public voting. "Can't Wait Until Tonight" performed by Max was selected as the German entry for Istanbul after placing first in the top two during the first round of voting and ultimately gaining 92% of the vote in the second round.
Switzerland was represented by DJ BoBo in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Vampires Are Alive".
"'Ajde, kroči" is a song which was the Montenegrin entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. It was sung by Stevan Faddy and selected by televoting in the Montenegrin national final MontenegroSong 2007, where it received 4,749 votes.
"Fight" was the Moldovan entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, performed in English by Natalia Barbu, written by Elena Buga and composed by Alexandru Brașoveanu.
"If We All Give a Little" was the Swiss entry to the Eurovision Song Contest 2006, sung by six4one. The song was written by Ralph Siegel and Bernd Meinunger.
The United Kingdom has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 63 times. It first took part in the second contest in 1957 and has entered every year since 1959. "Fairytale" is a song written and composed by Belarusian-Norwegian violinist and singer Alexander Rybak, the first single from his debut album Fairytales. The song was the winner for Norway of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, held in Moscow, Russia. In 2021, the song became trending again on social media platforms, especially TikTok, being used in cosplays and other similar videos.
SunStroke Project is a Moldovan musical duo composed of Sergei Yalovitsky and Sergey Stepanov (saxophonist). They achieved fame for representing Moldova in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with Olia Tira, and again in the 2017 contest. The duo was originally formed as a trio, including both current members in addition to Anton Ragoza. The name of the group was chosen by Ragoza whilst working in the army with Sergey Stepanov, after he had an incident in which he was affected by heat stroke whilst on a field exercise.
"Satellite" is a song written by American songwriter Julie Frost, and Danish songwriter John Gordon. It is best known as Germany's winning entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, performed by German singer Lena Meyer-Landrut.
"Somebody Dance with Me" is a song by Swiss artist DJ BoBo featuring Emel Aykanat. It was released in November 1992 as the second single from his debut album, Dance with Me (1993). The song is on some parts based on sampling taken from "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell. It was the first major hit of DJ BoBo in 1992-1993 reaching the top of Swiss Hitparade, the official Swiss Singles Chart. It was also a number-one hit in Portugal and Sweden.
"Euphoria" is a song performed by Swedish recording artist and songwriter Loreen. It was released on 26 February 2012 as the third single from her debut studio album Heal (2012). The song was written by Thomas G:son, Peter Boström and produced by Boström and SeventyEight. It is best known as Sweden's winning entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song won the competition with a total of 372 points, at the time the second-highest point total in the contest's history. The song received the highest number of maximum (12) points of any entry in the contest's history with eighteen countries giving the song their top marks.
"Kedvesem" is a song by performed by Hungarian indie-pop singer ByeAlex. The Zoohacker remix of the song was selected as the entry to represent Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö.
Latvia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The Latvian broadcaster Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) organised the national final Supernova 2019 in order to select the Latvian entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Finland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Dark Side" written by Aleksi Kaunisvesi, Joonas Porko, Joel Hokka, Niko Moilanen and Olli Matela. The song was performed by the band Blind Channel. The Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle) organised the national final Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2021 in order to select the Finnish entry for the 2021 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Seven entries were selected to compete in the national final on 20 February 2021 where the combination of votes from seven international jury groups and votes from the public selected "Dark Side" performed by Blind Channel as the winner.
"Dark Side" is a song by Finnish post-hardcore band Blind Channel. It represented Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, having won Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2021. It reached number one in Finland on 28 February 2021.
"Tout l'univers" is a song by Swiss singer Gjon's Tears released as a single on 10 March 2021 by Jo & Co and Sony Music. It was written and composed by the singer himself alongside Nina Sampermans, Wouter Hardy and Xavier Michel. The song represented Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, after being internally selected by the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation. The song finished in 3rd place, receiving 432 points, the best result of Switzerland in the 21st century and its best result since 1993. It also won the Composer Award in the 2021 edition of the Marcel Bezençon Awards, voted on by a panel of participating composers in the 2021 contest.
