WOW Alliance was a cargo airline alliance consisting of up to four airlines.[ citation needed ]
The WOW Alliance has been established in 2000 by the SAS Cargo Group, Lufthansa Cargo and Singapore Airlines Cargo while JAL Cargo joined in July 2002. [1] Lufthansa Cargo subsequently left the WOW Alliance in 2009 while JAL Cargo ended its operations after more than 30 years of service in 2010 and left as well.[ citation needed ]
The WOW Alliance ceased operations sometime after 2010 without any announcement. However, Singapore Airlines confirmed in 2023 that the alliance no longer exists.[ citation needed ] It's sole competitor had been the similar SkyTeam Cargo.

An airline is a company that provides air transport services for traveling passengers or freight. Airlines use aircraft to supply these services and may form partnerships or alliances with other airlines for codeshare agreements, in which they both offer and operate the same flight. Generally, airline companies are recognized with an air operating certificate or license issued by a governmental aviation body. Airlines may be scheduled or charter operators.
Deutsche Lufthansa AG, or simply Lufthansa, is the flag carrier of Germany. When combined with its subsidiaries, it ranks second in Europe by passengers carried, as well as largest in Europe and fourth largest in the world by revenue. Lufthansa is also one of the five founding members of Star Alliance, which is the world's largest airline alliance, formed in 1997. Lufthansa was founded in 1953 and commenced operations in April 1955.
An airline alliance is an aviation industry arrangement between two or more airlines agreeing to cooperate on a substantial level. Oneworld is a global airline alliance consisting of 15 member airlines. It was founded on 1 February 1999. The alliance's stated objective is to be the first choice airline alliance for the world's frequent international travellers. Its headquarters have been located in Fort Worth, Texas since December 2022.
SkyTeam is one of the world's three major airline alliances. Founded in June 2000, SkyTeam was the last of the three alliances to be formed, the first two being Star Alliance and Oneworld, respectively. The Boeing 747-400 is a large, long-range wide-body airliner produced by Boeing Commercial Airplanes, an advanced variant of the initial Boeing 747. The "Advanced Series 300" was announced at the September 1984 Farnborough Airshow, targeting a 10% cost reduction with more efficient engines and 1,000 nautical miles [nmi] of additional range. Northwest Airlines became the first customer with an order for 10 aircraft on October 22, 1985. The first 747-400 was rolled out on January 26, 1988, and made its maiden flight on April 29, 1988. Type certification was received on January 9, 1989, and it entered service with Northwest on February 9, 1989.
