The ward covers the southwestern part of the town of Market Harborough. [7] It takes its name from the nearby River Welland which runs through the ward. It is mostly a mix of residential estates with open spaces [8] and the former Rugby and Stamford Railway passes through the middle of it. [9] [ failed verification ]
