Her debut single, "Whine Up", released in 2007, went on to become a commercial success, entering the Top 40 in numerous countries and topping the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Her debut studio album, 9 Lives (2007), failed to see the success of its lead single. The album's third single, "Run the Show", became a hit in various territories, and reached number two on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.

9 Lives is the debut studio album by American singer Kat DeLuna. It was released in the United States on August 7, 2007. The album is a mix of R&B, pop, latin and dancehall influences. The album is mainly produced by RedOne, who at the time was unknown. Many of the songs on the album have a Hispanic feel, mainly the track Am I Dreaming. The album features guest appearances by artists such as Shaka Dee, Don Omar, Elephant Man and American rapper Busta Rhymes. DeLuna would later collaborate with Elephant Man yet again on her 2010 album, Inside Out.

"Am I Dreaming" incorporates the styles of bachata and reggae, while showcasing DeLuna's soprano abilities. The official remix features the singer Akon. "Am I Dreaming" was produced by RedOne and written by DeLuna, RedOne and Jane't Sewell-Ulepic.

The single also became a smash hit in the US, peaking inside the top forty of the Hot 100 single chart, as well as topped the Hot Dance Club Play chart. The single led to the release of DeLuna's debut album, 9 Lives in the Fall of 2007. The album was met to generally positive critical reception. The album debuted at number 58 in the US, and charted within the top twenty of countries such as Belgium and Poland.

"Breathing Your Love" is a song by the Swedish singer Darin featuring vocals by American singer Kat DeLuna and the first single from Darin's fourth studio album, Flashback. The song is co-written by Darin with RedOne, Bilal Hajji and Novel was released to radio stations and as a digital download in Sweden on 8 October 2008. The single was released in Finland and is also the first single from Darin to be released in the United Kingdom, which it was in January 2010. In October 2009 Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang took 2 copies of the single into space with him, as his daughter is a Darin fan. A photo of the disc can be seen with earth in the distance on the official Darin website.

"Fade" is the seventh and final single released from Kristine W's 2009 album The Power of Music. The single was released in two parts, called "Fade: The Epic Remixes Parts 1 & 2" featuring 24 different remixes from 9 different producers. With the June 18, 2011 issue of Billboard, "Fade" became Kristine W's 16th number one single on the Hot Dance/ Club Play Charts, and her seventh from The Power of Music. This number one single also moved her above Mariah Carey as the 7th artist with the most number ones on the Hot Dance/ Club Play Charts behind Madonna and Janet Jackson who has 22. With "Fade", Kristine W also broke the record for most #1 singles from one album on the Billboard Dance Charts.

"Dancing Tonight" is a single by American singer Kat DeLuna, the fourth single from her second studio album Inside Out. The original title of the song was in fact "We'll Be Dancing", with the original top-line conceptualized and written by Sebastian La'Mar Jones. Jones then brought aboard Dallas Diamond, a then college student and friend enrolled at Full Sail University, to help finish the record. "Dancing Tonight" was produced by EightySix.

A dance song, it samples and interpolates Sister Nancy's "Bam Bam" (1982) and Shaggy and Rikrok's "It Wasn't Me" (2000). The instrumental has reggae influences and the lyrics are about sex. The song was included on DeLuna's compilation album Loading (2016). Critics had a mixed response to "Bum Bum", which peaked at number 32 on the Rhythmic Billboard chart. The song was promoted with a music video released on June 16, 2015. In it, DeLuna dances and appears nude. Noise Cans and Frank Delour released remixes for the single.
