"Wonderful Dream (Holidays are Coming)" is a song by American-German recording artist Melanie Thornton. It was written by Thornton, Mitchell Lennox, Julien Nairolf, Ben Naftali, Terry Coffey, Jon Nettlesbey, Rich Airis, and Scott Temper and produced by Lennox and Nairolf. The song was also featured in a Coca-Cola Christmas promotional campaign, which makes use of altered lyrics. It is Thornton's best selling single to date and is played every Christmas season in Germany.[ citation needed ]
The song charted at #3 in both Germany and Switzerland, #5 in Austria, #21 in Slovenia, and #50 in Poland. The single eventually certified Double Platinum in both Germany and Austria. [ citation needed ]
The song was posthumously released on 26 November 2001, two days after Thornton died in the Crossair Flight 3597 plane crash. [1] The song was also featured on the reissue of Thornton's "Ready to Fly" album that was released the same day.[ citation needed ]

Polish singer Margaret recorded a Polish-language version of the song titled "Coraz bliżej święta", which featured the finalists of the sixth season of The Voice of Poland . It was used in Polish Coca-Cola Christmas commercial, [15] and was released for digital download on 3 November 2015. Melanie Janene Thornton was an American pop and dance music singer. She was the lead singer of the Eurodance group La Bouche from 1994 to 1999, alongside American rapper and backing vocalist Lane McCray. Their two most successful singles, "Sweet Dreams" and "Be My Lover", were released in 1994 and 1995 respectively. After leaving the group, Thornton began a solo career and found success, primarily in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland before her death in November 2001. Her solo songs include "Love How You Love Me", "Heartbeat", "Makin' Oooh Oooh " and "Wonderful Dream ".

It was released by X-Cell Records on 7 May 2001, in German-speaking Europe after Thornton's departure as the lead vocalist of the Eurodance music duo La Bouche. Taking her solo work further into the soul pop and dance pop genres, Thornton worked with chief producers Mitchell Lennox and Julien Nairolf on the album, on which she co-wrote six tracks. Other collaborators include Todd Chisolm, Jay Tee Rogers, Martin Mayer, Rob Tyger, Raúl de Chile, and Bobby Stalker.
