Zulfiqer Russell (Bengali : জুলফিকার রাসেল; born 13 November 1977) is a Bangladeshi lyricist and journalist. He is currently the editor of the online news site, The Bangla Tribune. He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the film Putro (2018). [1] He was the winner of the Channel i Music Awards in 2008, 2010, 2013 [2] and 2022 [3] and also received the Mirchi Music Awards (Bangla) award for the Song of the Year in the Modern Song category for, "Shabuj Chilo". [4] On 2020 he was awarded CJFB Performance Award 2019 as best lyricist. [5] He had also worked with renowned Indian singers and composers including Grammy and Academy Award (Oscar) winner musician A. R. Rahman. He wrote the official theme song 'Ektai Achhe Desh [6] [7] ' of the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Independence sang by fifty renowned singers of Bangladesh.

Zulfiqer Russell was born on 13 November 1977, in the Dhaka District of Bangladesh.[ citation needed ] He is the son of Abdus Salam (father) and Saleha Begum (mother). He studied at the Muslim Modern Academy, and graduated from Dhaka City College.[ citation needed ]
At the beginning of 1993, Russell's poems were featured in a number of publications including Ajker Kagoj . His first poem was "Kofine Ojoggo Purush". He is the only lyricist in Bangladesh who received an appreciation letter from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He wrote the official welcome song "O Prithibi Ebar Ese Bangladesh Nao Chine" for the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup held in Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka. [2] [8] He penned around thousand songs since 1994, many of which were sung by prominent artists. He was one of the top lyricists of the year 2011. [9] Russell is currently the editor of the Bangla Tribune, and has previously written for publications such as The Daily Ittefaq and The Daily Janakantha . He has also worked for Maasranga Television and Bangla newspapers, Daily Amader Shomoy, Ajker Kagoj and Banglabazar Patrika.[ citation needed ]
In addition to working with fellow Bangladeshi artists, He has also worked with renowned Indian singers and composers including Grammy and Academy Award (Oscar) winner musician A R Rahman, he is the first Bangladeshi lyricist who collaborated with A R Rahman. He also work with Hariharan, Sonu Nigam, Javed Ali, Palak Muchhal, Benny Dayal, Zubin Garg, Nachiketa, Anjan Dutt, Indranil Sen, Rupankar Bagchi, Raghab Chatterjee, Anwesha, Chinmoyee, Iman Chakrabarty. Zulfiqer Russell wrote the official theme song 'Ektai Achhe Desh [6] [7] ' of the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Independence sang by fifty renowned singers of Bangladesh. He wrote a theme song 'Joy Bangabandhu' in the Hindi language for the state ceremony on the hundred-year celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This song is composed and sung by Academy award winner A. R. Rahman. Zulfiqer Russell wrote another theme song 'Hoyeche ki Sonar Bangla' for the state ceremony on the hundred-year celebration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He places himself as Publicity and Publication Secretary of Music Alliance Bangladesh (Sangeet Oikko Bangladesh [10] ).
He is also active in a various organisation like the Lyricists Association of Bangladesh (Geetikobi Shongho) where he places himself as Organizing Secretary. [11] [12] By this platform they want amendments on copyright law to stop the unauthorized use of lyrics. [10]

Shironamhin is a Bangladeshi rock band formed in Dhaka in 14 April 1996. Following as a rock group emerging from Dhaka's underground music in the late 1990s, they were distinguished for their extended psychedelic and progressive compositions, multi-instrumental experimentation, and philosophical lyrics and became one of the leading band of the Bengali progressive rock genre. In 2008, the band became a member of the Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA).

Jahid Nirob born 21 October 1994 is a Bangladeshi singer and music composer best known as the member of the rock band Chirkutt. Nirob began his career when he participated in the contemporary reality show, Nescafe Get Set Rock in 2011, but didn't receive widespread recognition before joining Chirkutt in 2015.
Sabbir Nasir is a Bangladeshi singer, composer, songwriter. He works on folk fusion, indie pop and blues music. He started performing on stage at the age of 16. He was the vocalist and the lead guitarist of different bands. His last band, Metamorphosis published their first and last album in 1998. Since 1998 till 2018, Sabbir was out of the musical scene. He started singing again in 2018 at the studios and on stages and some of his folk and Blues songs became very much popular among Bangladeshi and Indian Audience. Some of his top Folk singles are "Binodini Rai" which is a duet song, sung along with Sampa Biswas from India, "Amare Dia Dilam Tomare", "Tumi Dome Dom" etc. He got CJFB Award in 2020 for his Single "Horsho". He was recognized with Safekeeper Channel i Digital Award in 2021 for his song "Amare Dia Dilam Tomare". In 2021, for his single "Adha" he won the bronze award in the Male singer category at the Global Music Awards program, organised by a California-based organisation. His first English single "Drowning" was featured in various international magazines.
Prince Mahmud is a Bangladeshi lyricist, composer and music director. He has been writing and composing songs for solo and joint albums of band artists in Bangladesh since the 90's. Many of his songs gained wide popularity. His first mixed album Shakti (1995) propelled his journey as a composer of mixed albums, which immediately garnered him a massive success. In a career spanning more than three decades, Mahmud has released 50 albums including solo, duets and mixed. He is widely regarded as the greatest lyricist and composer of his time.

"Jodi Raat Pohale Shona Jeto" is a song from the 1991 Bangladeshi music album named Jonotar Nouka. The lyricist of this modern music was Hasan Motiur Rahman. Moloy Kumar Ganguly composed sang originally this song to the tune with music arrangement of Almas Ali. The song is considered to be the most popular song about Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The song was released under label of Chenasur along with other songs from the audio album.

He is listed singer of Bangladesh Betar and BTV. Shwapnil was the first official entry for North American Bengali Conference (NABC) in 2015 from Bangladesh.
