The 15th Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films, and Pakistani television in 2015, took place on 29 July 2016 at Expo Center, Karachi, Sindh, beginning at 7:30 p.m. PST. During the ceremony, LUX presented the Lux Style Awards (commonly referred to as LSA) in four segments including Film, Fashion, Television, and Music. The ceremony was televised in Pakistan by Geo Entertainment (on 20 August 2016 at 7 pm) and was produced by Lux Unilever Pakistan. [1] [2]

Winners and nominees

The nominees for the 15th Lux Style Awards were announced on 30 May 2016, at 9:30 p.m. PST (21:30 UTC), at the Mövenpick Hotel Karachi in Karachi, Sindh, by actors Ahmed Ali Butt, Adnan Malik, Yasir Hussain, and Mahira Khan. [3] For the first time in Lux Style Awards history, Supporting Roles and Singing categories were introduced in the Film section. [4] Voting lines were set open in twelve categories on 4 July 2016 and were closed on 26 July, announcing the ceremony date.[ citation needed ]

When the nominations were announced, actor Ahmed Ali Butt was nominated in the Best Actor category, however, Butt stated in a press release that his part in the film was of a supporting role and not main, [5] with Lux also agreeing with his decision and later moved his nomination to the Supporting Actor category. [6] [7] Actor Danish Taimoor, who was second in line behind Butt was replaced with his nominations. [8]

The 2002 Lux Style Awards, officially known as the 1st Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by the Lux Style Awards, honours the best films of 2001 and took place between 18–20 February 2002. The programme was developed and led by Naheed Chowdhry, who co-created the concept with Frieha Altaf. "I wanted to ensure that there was a sustainable legacy created that impartially assessed contributors and gave back to society through scholarships in the arts and culture arena", says Chowdhry."One that would go on to be recognised as the 'Oscars' of Pakistan."

The 2012 Lux Style Awards, officially known as the 11th Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by the Lux Style Awards honors the best films of 2011 and took place between 14 and 16 February 2012. This year, the city of Pakistan played host to the Pakistani Film Industry.

Babar Javed is a Pakistani television and film producer and director. It took place on 23 April 2016, at the Expo Centre in Karachi, Sindh, beginning at 7:30 p.m. PST. During the ceremony, HTNEC presented Hum Awards in 25 categories. The ceremony was televised in Pakistan by Hum TV on 28 May 2016.

<i>Rang Laaga</i> Pakistani TV series or programme

Rang Laaga is a 2015 Pakistani drama serial that originally aired on ARY Digital from 11 March 2015 to 4 November 2015, airing a total 34 episodes. It was directed by Anjum Shahzad and was written by Sana Fahad. The drama stars Saima Noor, Faisal Qureshi, Neelam Muneer and Saboor Ali in pivot roles. At the annual 15th Lux Style Awards, Rang Laaga received five nominations, including Best TV Play for Mustafa and Kazmi, Best TV Actor for Qureshi, Best TV Actress for Noor, Best Director for Shehzad, and Best Writer for Fahad.

<i>Khuda Dekh Raha Hai</i> Television series

Khuda Dekh Raha Hai is a Pakistani television drama series directed by Sabiha Sumar of Khamosh Pani fame and produced by Sadia Jabbar. It is written by Shahzad Javed and Afifa Muhammad. The series stars Sajal Aly and Agha Ali in lead roles along with Bushra Ansari, Bushra Ansari, Imran Aslam and Asad Siddiqui in supporting roles. The serial originally aired on A-Plus Entertainment from 19 February 2015 to 2 July 2015 with a total of 20 episodes.

Aap ki Kaneez is a 2015 Pakistani drama serial originally aired on Geo Entertainment from 15 September 2014 to 23 March 2015 for twenty-six episodes. It was directed by Amir Yousaf, written by Faiza Iftikhar and stars Alyy Khan, Shamim Hilaly, Atiqa Odho and Yumna Zaidi in pivotal roles. At the 15th Lux Style Awards, it received a Best TV Director nomination for Amir Yousaf. It later aired on GEO Kahani. It is also available on Amazon Prime Video since late 2019.

Anjum Shahzad is a Pakistani TV and film director, producer, writer, actor and a philanthropist. Shahzad rose to fame and is best known for his role as Bobby in the critically acclaimed and madly-followed comedy series Family Front in the 90s. The situational comedy earned him PTV Award for Best Debut Actor for his role as Bobby.

Aamir Yousaf is a Pakistani TV director, producer, writer and former actor. Yousaf has directed drama serials such as Virasat, Ghaao, Anokha Ladla and Aap ki Kaneez, for which he was nominated for Best TV Director at the 15th Lux Style Awards.

Imran Nazir is a Pakistani writer best known for his works Rishtey and Mohabbat Aag Si that earned him widespread acclaim including Best TV Writer nomination at 15th Lux Style Awards. He is a head of content on Larachi Entertainment and a freelance writer at Geo Entertainment.

Adeel Razzaq is a Pakistani writer. He is best known for his debut drama series Muqaddas (2015) and Deewana (2016), both aired on Hum TV. He received his first Best TV Writer nomination at 15th Lux Style Awards for Muqaddas. He is a head of content on Larachi Entertainment and a freelance writer at Geo Entertainment.

The 16th Lux Style Awards ceremony, presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films, and Pakistani television of 2016, took place on 19 April 2017 at the Expo Center, Karachi, Sindh. During the ceremony, LUX presented the Lux Style Awards in four segments including Film, Fashion, Television, and Music. Actor in Law remained the most award-winning film with 4 awards while Udaari remained the most award-winning TV series by winning 3 awards.

The 19th Lux Style Awards presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films and Pakistani television of 2019, held digitally on 31 December 2020. The awards were held virtually due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world.

The 20th Lux Style Awards presented by Lux to honor the best in fashion, music, films and Pakistani television of 2020, took place on 9 October 2021 in Karachi.

The 22nd Lux Style Awards were held on 6 October 2023 in Karachi, Pakistan. The ceremony was hosted by Saba Qamar, Dur-e-Fishan Saleem, Fahad Mustafa and Ahmad Ali Butt.
