Pedro Elías Pablo Montt Montt was a Chilean political figure. He served as the president of Chile from 1906 to his death from a probable stroke in 1910. His government furthered railroad and manufacturing activities but ignored pressing social and labour problems.
Manuel Francisco Antonio Julián Montt Torres was a Chilean statesman and scholar. He was twice elected President of Chile between 1851 and 1861.
Domingo Santa María González was a Chilean political figure. He served as the president of Chile between 1881 and 1886.

The Battle of Yungay was the final battle of the War of the Confederation, fought on January 20, 1839, near Yungay, Peru. The United Restoration Army, led by Chilean General Manuel Bulnes, consisting mainly of Chileans and 600 North Peruvian dissidents, attacked the Peru-Bolivian Confederation forces led by Andrés de Santa Cruz in northern Peru, 200 kilometers (120 mi) north of Lima.
Presidential elections were held in Chile in July 1851. Carried out through a system of electors, they resulted in the election of Manuel Montt as President. Montt was the country's first non-military president.

In 1953 it reformed as the United Conservative Party and in 1966 joined with the Liberal Party to form the National Party. The Conservative Party was a right-wing party, originally created to be the clericalist, pro-Catholic Church group.
Antonio Varas de la Barra was a Chilean political figure. He began his political career as a Conservative, but was later a member of the National Party, of which he was one of the founders in 1857. He served several times as minister.

The Revolution of 1851 was an attempt by Chilean liberals to overthrow the conservative government of president Manuel Montt and repeal the Chilean Constitution of 1833. After various battles and sieges, by late December 1851 government forces had subdued the revolutionaries.
Rafael de la Barra López (1810–1894) was a Chilean lawyer and politician. He was born in Santiago in 1810. He died in the same city in 1894. He was the son of Juan Francisco de la Barra Loaiza and Mercedes López Villaseñor, and nephew of Melchor León de la Barra.
José Eusebio Barros Baeza (1810–1881) was a Chilean lawyer and politician. He was born in Santiago in 1810. He died in the same city in 1881. He was the son of Don Antonio and Dona Barros Grez Deidamia Baeza de la Fuente.
