Abraham Oyanedel Urrutia was chief justice of the Supreme Court of Chile, who served as acting President of the provisional government of Chile in 1932. He was appointed following the resignation of Bartolomé Blanche, as an alternative to installing another military regime. Assured by Oyanedel that the provisional government would hold elections and protect foreign interests, on 21 October 1932, the United States and Great Britain extended recognition to the government of Chile for the first time since the June coup against Juan Esteban Montero.

The Presidential Republic is the period in the history of Chile spanning from the approval of the 1925 Constitution on 18 September 1925, under the government of Arturo Alessandri Palma, to the overthrow of the Popular Unity government headed by the President Salvador Allende on 11 September 1973. The period is concurrent with the "Inward Development" period in Chilean economic history.

Row NYC Hotel is a hotel at 700 Eighth Avenue, between 44th and 45th Streets, in the Midtown Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. The hotel is 27 stories tall with 1,331 rooms. Designed by Schwartz & Gross, with Herbert J. Krapp as consulting architect, it was developed by brothers Henry and Irwin Chanin and opened on February 1, 1928, as the Hotel Lincoln. The hotel largely retains its original brick-and-terracotta facade. The interior spaces, which originally included a lobby and various restaurants on the first three stories, have been redesigned substantially over the years.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Vieno Simonen</span> Finnish politician and farmer (1898–1994)

Vieno Simonen was a Finnish politician and farmer. A member of the Agrarian League, she represented Kuopio East in the Parliament of Finland from 1948 to 1962. After serving in deputy ministerial positions in the Kekkonen IV, Törngren, and Fagerholm II cabinets, she was twice appointed as minister of social affairs by prime ministers V. J. Sukselainen and Martti Miettunen, and held the position from 1959 to 1962.
