Kerrier was a non-metropolitan district in Cornwall, England, created by the Local Government Act 1972. Elections were held to the new authorities in 1973, and they acted as "shadow authorities" until the handover date. Elections were held on 7 June. All 18 divisions were up for election, covering 42 seats across single and multiple-member wards.

Mebyon Kernow – The Party for Cornwall is a Cornish nationalist, centre-left political party in Cornwall, in southwestern Britain. It currently has five elected councillors on Cornwall Council, and several town and parish councillors across Cornwall.
Kerrier was a local government district in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It was the most southerly district in the United Kingdom, other than the Isles of Scilly. Its council was based in Camborne. Other towns in the district included Redruth and Helston. The district also contained the Lizard Peninsula.

Kerrier Rural District was a local government division of Cornwall in England, UK, between 1934 and 1974. The rural district was created in 1934 through the abolition of East Kerrier Rural District, Helston Rural District and Redruth Rural District.

The 2017 Cornwall Council election was held on 4 May 2017 as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. 122 councillors were elected from the 121 electoral divisions of Cornwall Council, which returned either one or two councillors each by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. Although originally scheduled to take place on the same day, the election in the Bodmin St Petroc ward was countermanded following the death of Liberal Democrat candidate Steve Rogerson and was held on 8 June.
Redruth South is an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom and returns one member to sit on Cornwall Council. The current Councillor is Ian Thomas, an Independent.
St Day and Lanner was an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom. As a division of Cornwall County Council, it returned one member from 1973 to 1985, when it was superseded by St Day, Lanner and Carharrack. A division to the unitary authority Cornwall Council was also called St Day and Lanner, returning one councillor from 2009 to 2013, after which it was replaced by Carharrack, Gwennap and St Day and Lanner and Stithians.
Moresk was an electoral division of Cornwall in the United Kingdom. Between 1979 and 2009, Moresk was a division of Carrick District Council, electing two councillors. After the district council was abolished in 2009, Truro Moresk was a division of the new unitary authority, Cornwall Council, covering 146 hectares of the north of Truro. It elected one member and was abolished in 2013, being absorbed by the Truro Boscawen and Ladock, St Clement and St Erme divisions.
