The 1999 US Open mixed doubles was the mixed doubles event of the hundred-and-ninth edition of the US Open, the fourth and last Grand Slam of the year. Serena Williams and Max Mirnyi were the defending champions but did not compete that year.
Ai Sugiyama and Mahesh Bhupathi won in the final against unseeded Americans Kimberly Po and Donald Johnson, 6–4, 6–4.

Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor won the mixed doubles title at the 2007 Australian Open tennis tournament, defeating Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi in the final 6–4, 6–4.
Tatiana Golovin and Richard Gasquet were the defending champions, but they chose not to participate together. The tournament was won by Daniela Hantuchová and Fabrice Santoro.
Katarina Srebotnik and Bob Bryan were the defending champions, but Srebtonik did not compete in the Mixed Doubles tournament at this U.S. Open. Bryan partnered Vera Zvonareva, and successfully defended the title, defeating Alicia Molik and Todd Woodbridge in the final 6–3, 6–4.
Martina Hingis and Mahesh Bhupathi defeated Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2006 Australian Open. With the win, Bhupathi completed the career Grand Slam in mixed doubles, becoming the 14th player to do so. It was Hingis' first major mixed doubles title; she would later also complete the career Grand Slam in the discipline.
