The mixed doubles of the 2002 Australian Open was held for the 58th time since the first tournament back in 1922. Heading into the tournament, Corina Morariu and Ellis Ferreira were the defending champions, but could not defend their title. While Morariu did not compete this year, Ferreira partnered with Cara Black and lost in the first Round to Rita Grande and Jeff Tarango in three sets.
Daniela Hantuchová and Kevin Ullyett won the title, defeating Paola Suárez and Gastón Etlis 6–3, 6–2 in the final. It was the second Grand Slam mixed doubles title for Hantuchová and the only title in mixed doubles for Ullyett, in their respective careers.

2006 French Open mixed doubles was an event at the 2006 French Open.
Martina Navratilova and Bob Bryan defeated Květa Peschke and Martin Damm in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2006 US Open. It was Navratilova's 59th and final major title, 32 years after her first.
Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor won the mixed doubles title at the 2007 Australian Open tennis tournament, defeating Victoria Azarenka and Max Mirnyi in the final 6–4, 6–4.
Tatiana Golovin and Richard Gasquet were the defending champions, but they chose not to participate together. The tournament was won by Daniela Hantuchová and Fabrice Santoro.
Virginia Ruano Pascual and Paola Suárez were the defending champions, and successfully defended their title, defeating Cara Black and Liezel Huber in the final 4–6, 6–3, 6–3 Cara Black would fail to complete the career grand slam in women's doubles because of this loss
Katarina Srebotnik and Bob Bryan were the defending champions, but Srebtonik did not compete in the Mixed Doubles tournament at this U.S. Open. Bryan partnered Vera Zvonareva, and successfully defended the title, defeating Alicia Molik and Todd Woodbridge in the final 6–3, 6–4.
Martina Hingis and Mahesh Bhupathi defeated Elena Likhovtseva and Daniel Nestor in the final, 6–3, 6–3 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2006 Australian Open. With the win, Bhupathi completed the career Grand Slam in mixed doubles, becoming the 14th player to do so. It was Hingis' first major mixed doubles title; she would later also complete the career Grand Slam in the discipline.
Samantha Stosur and Scott Draper defeated Liezel Huber and Kevin Ullyett in the final 6–2, 2–6, [10–6] to win the mixed doubles title at the 2005 Australian Open. This was the first Grand Slam title for both Stosur and Draper, and would be Draper's only Grand Slam title.

Martina Navratilova and Leander Paes defeated Eleni Daniilidou and Todd Woodbridge in the final, 6–4, 7–5 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 2003 Australian Open. It was Navratilova's first Australian Open mixed doubles title and eighth mixed doubles title overall, and the first Australian Open and second mixed doubles title for Paes. With the win, Navratilova became the fourth woman in history to complete the career Grand Slam in mixed doubles, and became only the third player in history to complete the "Boxed Set".
Virginia Ruano Pascual and Tomás Carbonell were the defending champions, but had different outcomes. Ruano Pascual teamed up with Gastón Etlis and lost in second round to Cara and Wayne Black, while Carbonell did not compete this year due to retiring from professional tennis in 2001.
Kimberly Po-Messerli and Nathalie Tauziat were the defending champions, but Tauziat did not compete this year. Po-Messerli teamed up with Corina Morariu and lost in semifinals to tournament winners Kim Clijsters and Jelena Dokic.
