In United Andhra Pradesh, the general elections and state assembly elections were held simultaneously. In both, the ruling Telugu Desam Party-Bharatiya Janata Party (TDP-BJP) combine was routed. BJP could not win a single seat. The result was a landslide victory for the United Progressive Alliance which won 34 out of 42 seats, which reflects the state elections that occurred before the general elections, where National Democratic Alliance (NDA) member, TDP, was defeated soundly by Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and the Indian National Congress. Alliance with CPM and CPI helped the Congress party. Congress had contested in alliance with the communist parties and the TRS.^[1]^[2]

Election Schedule

The election commission had appointed its total of 126 observers in the state in view of the preparations.^[3]

The filing of nomination along with voting was carried by the Election Commission in three days as:^[4]

Godam Nagesh, is an Indian politician. He hails from the Gond people. G. Nagesh was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in the 1994 election from the Boath seat, contesting as a Telugu Desam Party candidate. His father G. Rama Rao, former Minister for Tribal Welfare, was incumbent legislator of Boath at the time. G. Nagesh won the seat, obtaining 51,593 votes. He was amongst the youngest legislators in the Legislative Assembly at the time. G. Nagesh was named as Minister of State for Scheduled Tribes Welfare and Welfare of the Handicapped in the TDP state government after the election.

The 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election were held in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 11 April 2019 for constituting the fifteenth legislative assembly in the state. They were held alongside the 2019 Indian general election.

The 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election was held in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 13 May 2024 for constituting the sixteenth Andhra Pradesh Assembly. They were held alongside the 2024 Indian general election. The election results were declared on 4 June 2024.

Madduluri Malakondaiah Yadav is an Indian politician from Andhra Pradesh. He is an MLA from Chirala Assembly constituency, which is in Bapatla district. He represents Telugu Desam Party. He won the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election where TDP had an alliance with BJP and Jana Sena Party.

The Kūṭami is a political coalition formed in 2014, formed in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India and it is part of the national coalition National Democratic Alliance. Currently, the alliance consists of three parties - the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Janasena Party (JSP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This alliance achieved notable successes not only by winning the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election with a clean sweep of 164 out of 175 assembly seats but also by securing a whopping 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state during 2024 Indian general election in Andhra Pradesh.
