Kavuri Sambasiva Rao (born 1 October 1943) is an Indian politician,engineer and industrialist from the state of Andhra Pradesh. [1]
He was the Minister of Textiles at Ministry of Textiles,with cabinet rank,for India in UPA Government from 17 June 2013. [2]
Rao resigned as minister and from the Congress Working Committee by opposing the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014. [3]
Rao was born in 1943. He was educated at NIT Warangal.
He has been a member of the 8th,9th,12th,14th and 15th Lok Sabha of India. He represents the Eluru constituency of Andhra Pradesh and is a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party, [4] which he joined on 1 May 2014.
Once he was permanent invitee for Congress Working Committee. Earlier he represented Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency in Andhra Pradesh. Kavuri is business entrepreneur in the fields of civil construction and health care. He was elected to Indian Parliament for fives times and member in parliament committee. He had sworn in as Union Cabinet minister for Textiles on 17 June 2013. [5]
On 28 April 2014 he resigned from the Indian National Congress and announced his decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). [4] A month earlier he had resigned as the minister,protesting the creation of the State of Telangana. He has also announced that he would not contest the Lok Sabha polls on Indian National Congress ticket.
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi,formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi,is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in the state of Telangana and currently the primary opposition party in the state. Santosh Kumar Gangwar is an Indian politician and the former Minister of State with independent charge in the Ministry of Labour and Employment in the Government of India. He is a Member of Parliament,former minister of state in Government of India and a leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has been Member of Parliament for the city of Bareilly since 1989 till date. He was also the chief whip of the party in 14th Lok Sabha. He faced defeat in the 15th Lok Sabha Elections,2009 by a very narrow margin. Gangwar was the chairman of the PAC Public Accounts Committee (India) in 2009. He has been elected as Member of Parliament in 16th Lok Sabha. He won by a margin of over 2.4 lakh votes over his rival candidate in 2014 general election. He resigned from the post of cabinet minister ahead of the cabinet reshuffle in July 2021.He is currently the Chairperson of the Committee on Public Undertakings.
General elections were held in India on 27 April,2 May and 7 May 1996 to elect the members of the eleventh Lok Sabha. The elections resulted in a hung parliament with no single party having a clear majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party,which had won the most seats,formed a short-lived government under Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However,two weeks later the United Front coalition was able to secure a parliamentary majority and H. D. Deve Gowda of Janata Dal became Prime Minister. In 1997 Inder Kumar Gujral,also from the United Front,succeeded Gowda as Prime Minister. Due to the instability,early elections were held in 1998. The elections were the first since 1980 in which every states' seats were elected in a single election period.

The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014,commonly known as the Telangana Act,is an Act of Indian Parliament that split the state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana and the residuary Andhra Pradesh state,as an outcome of the Telangana movement.
