The series began on 14 April at Bahrain. Timo Glock was crowned series champion on 30 September after winning the final round at Valencia, with Brazilian Lucas di Grassi finishing second.

2008 GP2 Series

The 2008 GP2 Series season was the forty-second season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also fourth season under the GP2 Series moniker. It began on 26 April at Montmeló, Spain and it finished on 14 September at Monza, Italy. This is the first season using a new car design to be used during the following 3 seasons. The series was won by Giorgio Pantano.

Stefano Coletti Monegasque professional racing driver

Stefano Coletti is a Monégasque professional racing driver who races for SMP Racing in the European Le Mans Series. His sister Alexandra Coletti is an alpine skier. He is the first Monégasque driver since Louis Chiron (1931) to have won a race in Monaco.

The 2012 Monza GP2 series round and the 2012 Monza GP3 Series round were a group of motor races held at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza near Monza in Italy for the GP2 and GP3 Series championships. The races, which were run on 8 and 9 September, was in support of the Italian Formula One Grand Prix. The GP2 races formed the eleventh round of the 2012 GP2 championship, while the GP3 races were the eighth and final round of the 2012 GP3 season.

Antonio Giovinazzi Italian racing driver

Antonio Maria Giovinazzi is an Italian racing driver who is currently racing for Dragon/Penske Autosport in Formula E. He was the 2015 FIA Formula 3 European Championship runner-up and raced with Prema in the 2016 GP2 Series, again finishing runner-up with five wins and eight overall podiums. Giovinazzi was chosen by Scuderia Ferrari to be their third and reserve driver for the 2017 season. He made his competitive debut for Sauber at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix, replacing the injured Pascal Wehrlein. He also replaced Wehrlein at the following Chinese Grand Prix as Wehrlein continued his recovery. Giovinazzi raced in F1 for Alfa Romeo Racing from 2019 to 2021.

The 2014 GP2 Series season, was the forty-eighth season of the second-tier of Formula One feeder championship and also tenth season under the GP2 Series moniker, a support series to the 2014 Formula One World Championship. Russian Time were the defending team champions.

2006 Magny-Cours GP2 Series round was a GP2 Series motor race held on 15 and 16 July, 2006 at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours in Magny-Cours, France. It was the seventh race of the 2006 GP2 Series season. The race was used to support the 2006 French Grand Prix.

The 2008 Istanbul Park GP2 Series round was a GP2 Series motor race held on May 10 and 11, 2008 at Istanbul Park in Istanbul, Turkey. It was the second round of the 2008 GP2 Series season. The race weekend supported the 2008 Turkish Grand Prix.
