The 2007 European Short Course Swimming Championships, which was the 15th edition of the continental swimming event, were held between 13 and 16 December 2007 in Debrecen, Hungary. The championships were swum in the Debrecen Swimming Pool Complex, in a short course (25-metre) pool.

The events were held over four days, divided into a morning session, when the preliminary heats were staged, and an evening session, when the semifinals and finals took place.

The 1991 LEN European Sprint Swimming Championships were the first edition of what later would become the European Short Course Championships. It was held in Gelsenkirchen, Germany from 6–8 December 1991, and was organised by the Ligue Européenne de Natation. Only the 50 m events of each stroke, 100 m individual medley and 4×50 m relay events were at stake at this inaugural edition.
The 1993 European Sprint Swimming Championships were held in Gateshead, United Kingdom, from 11 to 13 November. The championships were organised by the Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN), with events held in a short course pool.
The 2006 European Swimming Championships were held in Budapest, Hungary, from 26 July – 6 August 2006. Disciplines include swimming, diving, synchronised swimming (synchro) and open water swimming. European Water Polo Championships for 2006 were also organized by LEN, but held separately.
The 2008 LEN European Aquatics Championships were held in Eindhoven, Netherlands, from 13–24 March 2008. They were the European championships for swimming (50 m), diving and synchronised swimming for 2008. Two new events were contested: the 800 m freestyle men and the 1500 m freestyle women. This is the first time that the men's and women's swimming programs are identical.
The 1987 European Aquatics Championships, organized by the Ligue Européenne de Natation, were held in an indoor pool (50 m) in Strasbourg, France from 16 August to 23 August 1987. Besides swimming there were titles contested in diving, synchronized swimming (women) and water polo. For the first time the 50 m freestyle event was included in the tournament.
The 2010 European Aquatics Championships were held from 4–15 August 2010 in Budapest and Balatonfüred, Hungary. It was the fourth time that the city of Budapest hosted this event after 1926, 1958 and 2006. Events in swimming, diving, synchronised swimming (synchro) and open water swimming were scheduled.
The 2012 European Aquatics Championships were held from 14 to 27 May 2012 in Debrecen, Hungary and Eindhoven, Netherlands. The 2012 European Swimming Championships were to take place in Antwerp, Belgium, but were reallocated to the City of Debrecen and were held on the same dates as previously planned, from 21 to 27 May. The Diving Championships were held in Eindhoven from 15 to 20 May. The Synchronised Swimming discipline, originally intended to take place in Antwerp, have also been reallocated, with its continental titles having been contested in Eindhoven. Originally, the Championships had been awarded to Vienna, but later they backed out due to the Great Recession.
The 2011 European Junior Swimming Championships were held from 6–10 July 2011 in Belgrade, Serbia. The Championships were organized by Ligue Européenne de Natation (LEN), the European Swimming League, and were held in a 50-meter pool. Per LEN rules, competitors were aged 15 or 16 for girls and 17 or 18 for boys.
Viktor Nagy is a Hungarian water polo goalkeeper. He took up the sport at the age of 10 at the Szolnoki Dózsa in Budapest, and made his first appearance for the Hungarian national team in 2006. He won the world title in 2013 and competed at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics
The Swimming Center M-86 is a complex of pools in southeast of Madrid, Spain. The headquarters of the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation are located there.
The European Diving Championships are biennial diving competitions, organized by LEN. The meet features divers from Europe, competing in events on 1-meter and 3-meter springboards and on 10-meter platform. The meet has traditionally been held in June.
