The International Triathlon Union (ITU) is the international governing body for the multi-sport disciplines of triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon and other nonstandard variations. The ITU host the top level international race series the ITU World Triathlon Series and the ITU Triathlon World Cup. More recently, the ITU created a long-distance race circuit with official world championships. Long Distance Triathlon races are closer in length to Ironman Triathlon races owned and organized by the World Triathlon Corporation.
Alistair Edward Brownlee, MBE is a British triathlete. He is the only athlete to hold two Olympic titles in the triathlon event, winning gold medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games and the only Man to have won Olympic Gold whilst going into the event as favourite for the title. He is also a two-time Triathlon World Champion, a two-time World Team Champion, a four-time European Champion, and the 2014 Commonwealth champion.
Francisco Javier Gómez Noya is a Spanish triathlete. He is the winner of five ITU Triathlon World Championships, he holds three ITU Triathlon World Cup titles, and won the Silver medal for Spain at the 2012 Summer Olympics in men's triathlon. He has also won world titles for Ironman 70.3 and XTERRA Triathlon.
The ITU World Triathlon Series is the International Triathlon Union's annual series of triathlon events used to crown an annual world champion. There are multiple rounds of competitions culminating in a Grand Final race. Athletes compete head-to-head for points in these races that will determine the overall ITU world champion. The elite championship races are held over two distances the standard and the sprint distance.
Jonathan Callum Brownlee is a British professional duathlete and triathlete. He was the 2012 Triathlon World Champion, and the silver medalist in 2013 and 2016.
Irina Alekseyevna Abysova, Russian: Ирина Алексеевна Абысова is a Russian open water swimmer and triathlete. In 2003, 2007, 2009 and 2010 she won the Russian Triathlon Championships and she took part in the Olympics in 2008 in Beijing and the 2012 Games in London. She is the winner of the 2013 ITU Aquathlon World Championship.
Yevgeniya Vyacheslavovna Koshelnikova Sukhoruchenkova is a Russian professional triathlete, member of the Russian National Team (Duathlon), decorated with the Russian title Master of Sports, both U23 Duathlon European Champion and U23 Duathlon World Champion of the year 2009, and Russian Elite Aquathlon Champion 2011. In the Russian Cup of the year 2009 she placed fifth, sharing this position with Natalia Shliakhtenko.
Jodie Lee Stimpson is a British professional triathlete. In 2013, she finished runner up in the ITU World Triathlon Series.
Lois Rosindale is an English professional triathlete, 2011 British Champion, and 2010 U23 Duathlon Vice World Champion. Rosindale is a member of the High Performance Triathlon Squad based in Leeds.
Annamaria Mazzetti is an Italian professional triathlete and 2009 National Champion in three categories.
Sarah True is an American athlete who competes in triathlon. She represented the United States in triathlon in 2012, finishing in fourth place, and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. True is the winner of the 2007 ITU Aquathlon World Championships and finished in second place in the 2014 ITU World Triathlon Series.

The ITU Long Distance Duathlon World Championships is a long-distance duathlon race, held annually since 1997, except for a break in 2009 and 2010. The championships involve a continuous run-cycle-run. The distances are typically around two to three times those of the shorter ITU Duathlon World Championships, in both cases varying according to the venue; they have also varied over the years. The championships are organised by the International Triathlon Union (ITU).
Claire Michel is a Belgian professional triathlete. She is the 2013 Aquathlon vice-World Champion. She has been named Belgian Triathlon's Female Athlete of the Year twice, in 2014 and 2015, she's part of the National Team and represented Belgium at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. She is also Belgian Champion on Sprint distance for 2016.
