The 2015 BWF World Senior Championships is a badminton tournament which was held from 9 to 15 August at Helsingborg Arena in Helsingborg, Sweden. [1]

Olof Mattias Jonsson is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a winger. Starting off his career with Örebro SK in the early 1990s, he went on to represent Helsingborgs IF, Brøndby IF, and Norwich City before retiring at Djurgårdens IF in 2011. A full international between 1996 and 2006, he won 57 caps and scored nine goals for the Sweden national team. He represented his country at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 2004, and the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Johanna Sofia Elisabeth Persson is a former Swedish badminton player. Persson started her junior career in Täby Badmintonförening, and won her first national junior title in 1993 in the U-14 girls' singles, doubles, and mixed doubles event. She won the Swedish National senior title 11 times from 2002 to 2012, 6 in the women's doubles, and 5 in the mixed doubles. She won the bronze medals at the 2004 European Championships in the mixed doubles event partnered with Fredrik Bergström, and also at the 2006 and 2008 European Championship in the women's doubles event with Elin Bergblom. Persson competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in the mixed doubles with partner Bergström. They defeated Mike Beres and Jody Patrick of Canada in the first round and Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thungthongkam of Thailand in the second. In the quarterfinals, Persson and Bergström lost to Zhang Jun and Gao Ling of China 15–3, 15–1. After retiring from the international tournament, in 2009, Persson runs a project Girls of Badminton, to encourage and promote females within the Swedish Badminton Association. In 2011, she was awarded as a Person of the Year by the Badminton Europe. Her sister, Sara Persson, also an Olympian who competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.

Xie Xingfang is a retired Chinese badminton player from Guangzhou, Guangdong. She is a former defending two-time world champion for women's singles, and former women's singles World No. 1.

Sara Lisa Sofia Persson is a Swedish badminton player. Persson won the women's singles title at the Swedish National Championships in 2002 representing Täby Badmintonförening, and repeating it consecutively from 2005-2008. She competed at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, but defeated in the first round to Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria with the score 10–21, 10–21. Her sister, Johanna Persson, is also an Olympian who competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.

Bo Janne Andreas Jakobsson is a Swedish former professional footballer who played as a defender and defensive midfielder. Starting off his professional career with Landskrona BoIS in 1990, he went on to also represent Helsingborgs IF, Hansa Rostock, Brøndby IF, and Southampton before retiring at Helsingborg in 2007. He played 36 international matches for the Sweden national team, and was a squad player at the 2002 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2004.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations. In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF).

Magnus Sahlberg is a Swedish badminton player. He won the men's singles title at the National Championships in 2008, and in the men's doubles event in 2012. He also won the international level tournament at the 2006 Iceland International and 2009 Portugal International.

Carlos Longo Esteban is a badminton player from Spain. He won his first senior title at the National Championships in 2004 partnered with Rafael Fernández. A year later, he played at the 2005 World Badminton Championships in Anaheim, United States. In the men's singles event he lost in the first round 15–8, 15–5, against Hugi Heimersson of Sweden. In the mixed doubles event, partnering Laura Molina, they lost in the first round due to a Laura Molina's injury. He also played the 2006 World Championships in men's singles, and he was defeated in first round by Roman Spitko of Germany. Longo also won the mixed doubles title at the National Championships in 2009 and 2010 with Haideé Ojeda.

Chai Biao is a Chinese professional badminton player. Chai has concentrated on men's doubles for the majority of his senior career in badminton. His most successful partnership was with Hong Wei: together they reached the year end tournament BWF Superseries Finals in 2014 and 2015. Prannoy originally hails from Thiruvananthapuram and has a career-high world ranking of number 7, which he attained in May 2023. He studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya Akkulam.

Della Destiara Haris is an Indonesian badminton player affiliated with Jaya Raya Jakarta club. In the junior event, she was the mixed doubles silver medalist at the 2009 World Junior Championships, and also the mixed team and doubles bronze medalists at the 2010 Asian Junior Championships. She won her first international title in 2010 Indonesia International, and claimed her first Grand Prix title in 2016 Vietnam Open. Haris was two times Asian Championships bronze medalists winning in 2018 and 2019.

Toby Penty is a retired English badminton player. He started playing badminton at aged 9, and won U-19 English National Championships in 2011. In 2010, he won junior titles in the Netherlands and Switzerland. In 2017, he won the Swedish International tournament in the men's singles event.

Kunlavut Vitidsarn is a Thai professional badminton player. He was three-times World Junior champion, winning in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Vitidsarn became the first men's singles player to win three World Junior Championships titles, joining Ratchanok Intanon and Chen Qingchen as a three-time winner of the World Junior title in the same discipline. He claimed the gold medal at the Asian Junior Championships in 2019, where he previously won a silver in 2018 and bronze in 2017. Vitidsarn participated at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, and was part of the team Omega took the silver medal in the mixed team event. He was named the 2020/2021 Eddy Choong Most Promising Player. In the senior category, he won the silver medal at the 2022 World Championships.

The BWF World Senior Championships is a badminton tournament for players aged 35 and older sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). The winners will be crowned as the "World Senior Champions" and awarded gold medals. However, it does not offer any prize money. The tournament started in 2003 and being held biennially.
