He has won four world championships, four Briers and 17 Ontario provincial championships, including a record eight straight, from 2006 to 2013. He has made 20 Brier appearances, playing in a total of 227 games, the third most of any curler. The 2008 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's men's curling championship, was held from March 8 to 16 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The final pitted arguably the top 2 teams in the world, at least the top 2 teams in the World Curling Tour. Martin had a draw to the button in the tenth end to win the game.
