The 2019-20 Vermont Catamounts men's ice hockey season was the 64th season of play for the program, the 47th at the Division I level, and the 36th season in the Hockey East conference. The Catamounts represented the University of Vermont and were coached by Kevin Sneddon, in his 17th season.
In early February, Kevin Sneddon announced that he would retire at the end of the season. [1]

The Vermont Catamounts are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of the University of Vermont, based in Burlington, Vermont, United States. The school sponsors 18 athletic programs, most of which compete in the NCAA Division I America East Conference (AEC), of which the school has been a member since 1979. The men's and women's ice hockey programs compete in Hockey East. The men's and women's alpine and nordic skiing teams compete in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA). The school's athletic director is Jeff Schulman.
The Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program represents the University of Vermont. The Catamounts compete in Hockey East. Their first year of varsity women's hockey was in 1998–99. The Catamounts were in the ECAC at the Division III level of competition. In 2001–02, the Catamounts moved up to Division I. For the 2005–06 season, the Catamounts moved to Hockey East.
The Vermont Catamounts men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents the University of Vermont. The Catamounts are a member of Hockey East, joining in 2005 after competing in ECAC Hockey from 1974 to 2005. They play home games at Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, Vermont. Vermont has appeared in the NCAA Men's Hockey Championship six times since making the move to Division I in 1974–75, including trips to the Frozen Four in 1996 and 2009.
John Becker is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach of the Vermont Catamounts of the America East Conference. He replaced Mike Lonergan, who left to become the coach at George Washington University.
Mike Gilligan is a retired American ice hockey coach. He was the head coach at Vermont from 1983 through 2003 and later became an assistant with the UVM women's team for seven more seasons before retiring in 2014.
The 2014–15 Vermont Catamounts men's ice hockey team represents the University of Vermont in the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season. The team is coached by Kevin Sneddon, in his 12th season at Vermont. The Catamounts play their home games at the Gutterson Fieldhouse on campus in Burlington, Vermont, competing in Hockey East.
Amanda Pelkey is an American ice hockey forward, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Metropolitan Riveters. She won the Isobel Cup in 2016 with the Boston Pride and was previously affiliated with the Calgary section of the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA). Her college ice hockey career was played with the Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey program in the Hockey East conference of the NCAA Division I.
Kevin Sneddon is a Canadian American ice hockey coach. He is the former head coach of Vermont, a position he held from 2003 to 2020. He previously served as the head men's ice hockey coach at Union.
Jim Plumer is an American ice hockey coach. He is the current head coach of the Vermont Catamounts women's ice hockey team. He previously served as the women's hockey head coach at Amherst, where he guided them to back-to-back NCAA Division III national championships.
James M. Cross was an American ice hockey player and coach who led the Vermont Catamounts of the University of Vermont for nineteen seasons.
The 2019–20 Dartmouth Big Green Men's ice hockey season was the 114th season of play for the program and the 59th season in the ECAC Hockey conference. The Big Green represented the Dartmouth College and were coached by Bob Gaudet, in his 23rd season as their head coach. After the season Gaudet announced his retirement.
Todd Woodcroft is a Canadian ice hockey coach. Most recently, he was the head coach of the University of Vermont men's ice hockey team until his dismissal on July 18, 2023.
The 2020-21 Merrimack Warriors Men's ice hockey season was the 66th season of play for the program, the 32nd at the Division I level, and the 32nd season in the Hockey East conference. The Warriors represented Merrimack College and were coached by Scott Borek, in his 3rd season.
The 2020–21 Maine Black Bears Men's ice hockey season was the 46th season of play for the program, the 44th season competing at the Division I level, and the 37th season in the Hockey East conference. The Black Bears represented the University of Maine and played their home games at Alfond Arena, and were coached by Red Gendron, in his 8th season as their head coach.

The 2008–09 Boston University Terriers Men's ice hockey season was the 81st season of play for the program and 25th in Hockey East. They represented Boston University in the 2008–09 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey season. The Terriers were coached by Jack Parker, in his 36th season, and played their home games at Agganis Arena. The team won the 2009 NCAA Division I men's ice hockey tournament, the 5th national championship in program history.
