Cairo University is Egypt's premier public university. Its main campus is in Giza, immediately across the Nile from Cairo. Al Masry Club Stadium, formerly known as Port Said Stadium, was a multi-use all-seated stadium in Al Manakh, Port Said, Egypt, which was mostly used for football and was the home of Al Masry since 1958 and until the Port Said Stadium riot in 2012. In 2021, the stadium was closed to prepare for the demolition process, which was completed in mid-2022.

Hassan el-Imam was a prominent Egyptian film director. He was nicknamed the Box-office King.

Mahmoud Hassan was an Egyptian Greco-Roman Bantamweight wrestler. He competed for Egypt in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, earning a silver medal behind Kurt Pettersén of Sweden and Halil Kaya of Turkey. He also competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Mahmoud Reda was an Egyptian dancer and choreographer, known for co-founding the Reda Troupe, and as an Olympic gymnast.

Mahmoud Zakzouk was an Egyptian politician and academic. He served as minister of religious endowment of Egypt from 1995 to 2011.

Abu Seada was also member of the National Council for Human Rights, Egypt's national human rights institution.
