Chen Chi-mai is a Taiwanese politician and the current Mayor of Kaoshiung since August 24, 2020. He has served as spokesperson of the Democratic Progressive Party and the chief executive officer of its Policy Research and Coordinating Committee. A physician from Keelung, Chen started his political career by becoming member of the Legislative Yuan in 1996 and served as legislator for almost eight years before becoming the spokesperson of the Executive Yuan.

Lovers Under the Rain is a 1986 Taiwanese television drama series based on Chiung Yao's 1964 romance novel Fire and Rain. Mainly set in 1960s Taipei, the story follows a young girl Lu Yi-ping as she plotted revenge against her father—formerly a warlord in Northeast China who had 9 wives before fleeing the Chinese Communist Revolution for Taiwan—and his entire household, including her kind half-sister Lu Ru-ping.
Chinese Taipei competed at the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, Japan. This was their 6th appearance in the Asian Games. They won at total of 7 gold, 13 silver, and 24 bronze medals, or 44 medals in total. They improved from the previous Asian Games in 1990, where they won a total of 31 medals. They won the most medals in Judo, where they got a total of 1 silver and 5 bronze.

Han Kuo-yu is a Taiwanese politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 1993 to 2002, representing a portion of Taipei County for three terms. He later became general manager of Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Corporation. In 2017, Han contested the Kuomintang chairmanship, losing to Wu Den-yih. Han was elected Mayor of Kaohsiung in November 2018, and became the first Kuomintang politician since Wu in 1998 to hold the office. He was the KMT candidate for the 2020 Taiwanese presidential election, but lost to Tsai Ing-wen. On 6 June 2020, Han was successfully recalled from his position as mayor and officially stepped down on 12 June.

The Transitional Justice Commission was an independent government agency of the Republic of China (Taiwan) active from 31 May 2018 to 30 May 2022 based on the Act on Promoting Transitional Justice. The commission is responsible for the investigation of actions taken by the Kuomintang between 15 August 1945 and 6 November 1992. The commission's main aims include: making political archives more readily available, removing authoritarian symbols, redressing judicial injustice, and producing a report on the history of the period which delineates steps to further promote transitional justice.

The Taiwan People's Party (TPP) is a centrist political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was formally established on 6 August 2019 by Ko Wen-je, who serves as its first and current chairman. The party considers itself as an alternative third party to both the DPP and the KMT.
The 2020 Kuomintang chairmanship by-election was held on 7 March 2020. This was the ninth direct election of the party leader in Kuomintang history. All registered, due-paying KMT party members were eligible to vote.
The 2020 Kaohsiung mayoral by-election was held on 15 August 2020 following a successful recall attempt. The registered candidates were Chen Chi-mai representing the Democratic Progressive Party, Li Mei-jhen representing the Kuomintang, and Wu Yi-jheng representing the Taiwan People's Party. Chen Chi-mai won the by-election by a landslide margin with slightly over 70 percent of the votes. He replaced acting mayor Yang Ming-jou on 24 August 2020.
The Sound of Happiness is a Taiwanese Hokkien television drama that began airing on SET Taiwan in Taiwan on 26 December 2018, from Mondays to Fridays, and ended its broadcast on 5 August 2020. The series started production on 22 November 2018. The series is aired every weeknight at 8pm and is simulcast one hour later on SET Taiwan's sister channel, SET Drama.

The 2023 T1 League draft is the third edition of the T1 League's annual draft. It will be held on July 14, 2023, in Taipei City. There are six teams joined the draft, including the Kaohsiung Aquas, the New Taipei CTBC DEA, the Taichung Suns, the Tainan TSG GhostHawks, the Taishin basketball team, and the Taoyuan Leopards.
