The Three Links or Three Linkages was a 1979 proposal from the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China (PRC) to open up postal, transportation, and trade links between Mainland China and Taiwan, with the goal of unifying Mainland China and Taiwan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Su Tseng-chang</span> Premier of the Republic of China, 2006–2007 and 2019–2023

Hope Su Tseng-chang is a Taiwanese politician who served as premier of the Republic of China (Taiwan) from 2006 to 2007 and again from 2019 to 2023. He was the chairman of the Democratic Progressive Party in 2005 and from 2012 to 2014. Su served as Chief of Staff to President Chen Shui-bian in 2004. He is currently the longest-serving Democratic Progressive premier in history.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2005–06 Taiwanese local elections</span>

Local elections were held in Taiwan on 3 December 2005 to elect magistrates of counties and mayors of cities, councillors in county/city councils and mayors of townships and cities, known as the three-in-one elections, on 10 June 2006 to elect representatives in township/city councils and village chiefs, on 9 December 2006 to elect mayors and councillors of special municipalities, and on 30 December 2006 to elect village chiefs in Taipei City.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Jason Hu</span> Taiwanese politician (born 1948)

Jason Hu is a Taiwanese politician. He was the mayor of Taichung as provincial city in 2001-2010 and as special municipality in 2010–2014. He is a member of the Kuomintang (KMT), and has been the Vice Chairman of the party since April 2014.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chen Chi-mai</span> Taiwanese politician

Chen Chi-mai is a Taiwanese politician and the current Mayor of Kaoshiung since August 24, 2020. He has served as spokesperson of the Democratic Progressive Party and the chief executive officer of its Policy Research and Coordinating Committee. A physician from Keelung, Chen started his political career by becoming member of the Legislative Yuan in 1996 and served as legislator for almost eight years before becoming the spokesperson of the Executive Yuan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lin Chia-lung</span>

Lin Chia-lung is a Taiwanese politician and former academic who is the Secretary General to the President of Taiwan, serving since 31 January 2023. A member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), he served as mayor of Taichung City from 2014 to 2018.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Special municipality (Taiwan)</span> Administrative division of the Republic of China

Special municipality, historically known as Yuan-controlled municipality, is a first-level administrative division unit in Taiwan. Under the administrative structure of Taiwan, it is the highest level of division in Taiwan and is equivalent to a province. Since the streamlining of provinces in 1998, the special municipalities along with provincial cities and counties have all governed directly under the central government of Taiwan.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chen Chien-jen</span> Premier of Taiwan since 2023

Chen Chien-jenOS KSG KHS is a Taiwanese epidemiologist and politician who has served as the premier of the Republic of China (Taiwan) since 2023. He joined the Chen Shui-bian presidential administration in 2003 as leader of the Department of Health, serving through 2005. He later headed the National Science Council between 2006 and 2008. Chen then served as a vice president of Academia Sinica from 2011 to 2015. Later that year, Chen joined Tsai Ing-wen on the Democratic Progressive Party presidential ticket and served as Vice President of Taiwan from 2016 to 2020. Chen joined the DPP in 2022 and was appointed premier in January 2023.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chiu Tai-san</span> Taiwanese lawyer and politician

Chiu Tai-san is a Taiwanese lawyer and politician. He was a member of the Legislative Yuan from 1999 to 2004. He then served the Mainland Affairs Council as a vice chairman, and later as deputy mayor of Kaohsiung under Chen Chu. After leaving politics for a teaching position, Chiu was named the deputy mayor of Taoyuan under Cheng Wen-tsan in 2014. He resigned in 2016, and was appointed the Minister of Justice later that year. Chiu stepped down from the justice ministry in 2018, and served on the National Security Council until 2019. In 2021, Chiu was appointed minister of the Mainland Affairs Council.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2018 Taiwanese local elections</span>

Local elections were held on 24 November 2018 in Taiwan, to elect county magistrates, county (city) councilors, township mayors, township councilors and chiefs of village (borough) in 6 municipalities and 16 counties (cities). Elected officials would serve a four-year term. Polling stations were open from 08:00 to 16:00 on the election day.

Hsieh Ing-dan is a Taiwanese police officer.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Chen Su-yueh</span> Taiwanese politician

Chen Su-yueh is a Taiwanese politician. She served on the Changhua County Council from 2006 to 2014, then she won a by-election and succeeded Wei Ming-ku as a member of the Legislative Yuan in 2015.
