The 2021 Lithuanian Athletics Championships was the 98th edition of the national championship in outdoor track and field for athletes in Lithuania. It was held between 25 and 26 June at the Palangos centrinis stadionas in Palanga. [1]

Sport in Lithuania

Sportin Lithuania is governed by the Physical Education and Sports Department following the country's independence from the Soviet Union in 1990. The Lithuanian government established the department to manage physical education in the schools and sports administration in the country. Over the next few years, Lithuanian sports organizations established membership in international governing bodies. Lithuania participated in the Winter Olympics in Albertville and has participated in every Winter and Summer Olympics since.

The Lithuania national football team represents Lithuania in international football and is controlled by the Lithuanian Football Federation, the governing body for football in Lithuania. They played their first match in 1923. In 1940, Lithuania was occupied by the Soviet Union; the country regained its independence in 1990 and played their first match thereafter against Georgia on 27 May of that year.

2014 European Athletics Championships

The 2014 European Athletics Championships was held in Zürich, Switzerland, between 12–17 August 2014. It was the first time that Switzerland had hosted the European Athletics Championships since 1954.

2018 European Athletics Championships

The 2018 European Athletics Championships were held in Berlin, Germany, from 6 to 12 August 2018. The championships were part of the first European Championships with other events happening in the United Kingdom.

2022 World Athletics Championships

The 2022 World Athletics Championships, the eighteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, are scheduled to be held in 2022 in Eugene, Oregon, United States. It was originally scheduled for August 6–15, 2021. However, the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics prompted the need for postponement into 2022. On April 8, 2020, World Athletics announced that the event would take place from July 15–24, 2022.

2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup 9th FIFA Futsal World Cup, scheduled to be held in Lithuania in 2021

The 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup will be the ninth FIFA Futsal World Cup, the quadrennial international futsal championship contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will be held in Lithuania. It will mark the first FIFA tournament ever hosted by Lithuania and the third Futsal World Cup hosted in Europe; the others being 1989 in the Netherlands and 1996 in Spain.

2018 IAAF World U20 Championships

The 2018 World U20 Championships in Athletics, also known as the World Junior Championships, are an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors taking place at Tampere Stadium in Tampere, Finland on 10–15 July 2018. The championships were originally awarded to Tampere by the IAAF in March, 2016.

2021 European Athletics U20 Championships

The 2021 European Athletics U20 Championships is the 26th edition of the biennial European U20 athletics championships. They were held in Tallinn, Estonia from 15 July to 18 July.
