The 2022 UniSport Nationals, was a national multi-sport event held from 24 September to 30 September 2022 in Perth, Western Australia. [1]

Contents

More than 5,000 student athletes from 43 Australian universities and tertiary institutions participated at the event. [2] The University of Sydney topped the pennant tally, with the University of Technology Sydney and the University of Melbourne finishing second and third, respectively. [2] Bond University was awarded the Doug Ellis Per Capita Trophy, and Western Sydney University was awarded the John White Spirit Trophy. [2]

Curtin University is an Australian public research university based in Bentley, Perth, Western Australia. It is named after John Curtin, Prime Minister of Australia from 1941 to 1945, and is the largest university in Western Australia, with 58,607 students in 2022.

Priya Naree Cooper, is an Australian world champion disabled swimmer, winning nine Paralympic gold medals as well as world records and world championships. She competed in the Australian swimming team at the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Summer Paralympics with an S8 classification. She was twice the co-captain of the Australian Paralympic team, including at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney, and carried the Australian flag at the closing ceremonies for the 1992 and 1996 Summer Paralympics. Cooper has cerebral palsy and spends much of her time in a wheelchair. She attended university, working on a course in health management. After she ended her competitive Paralympic career, she became a commentator, and covered the swimming events at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Baseball at the Australian University Games has been part of the Australian University Games program since the 2004 games. The games are held in the last week of September during mid-Semester break.
