23 October – majority of Latvian Parliament (52 MPs from the United List, National Alliance, For Stability!, Latvia First! party, the Union of Greens and Farmers, and several non-partisan MPs) voted to support withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention in the first reading and voted to designate the withdrawal legislation as "urgency matter" which means an expedited procedure with only two readings necessary[17].
