The second Karnali Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2022 provincial elections on 20 November 2022. [1] 40 members were elected to the assembly, 24 of whom were elected through direct elections and 16 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The first session of the assembly commenced from 2 January 2023. [2]

The Koshi Provincial Assembly also known as the Koshi Pradesh Sabha, is the unicameral legislature of Koshi Province, one of the seven provinces in Nepal. General elections were held in Nepal on 20 November 2022 to elect the 275 members of the House of Representatives. There were two ballots in the election; one to elect 165 members from single-member constituencies via FPTP, and the other to elect the remaining 110 members from a single nation-wide constituency via party-list proportional representation.

Yagya Bahadur Budha Chhetri is a Nepali politician of Nepali Congress and Minister for Social Development in Karnali government since 5 June 2021. He is also serving as member of the Karnali Province Provincial Assembly.

Dinbandhu Shrestha is a Nepali politician of Nepali Congress and Minister for Water Resoource and Energy in Karnali government since 5 June 2021. He is also serving as member of the Karnali Province Provincial Assembly. Shrestha was elected to the 2017 provincial assembly elections from proportional list of the party. He including one other ministers from Nepali Congress saved incumbent cabinet in vote of confidence. He joined Mahendra Bahadur Shahi cabinet on 5 June 2021 after a group of CPN(UML) withdrew support from the government. As a result of talks between the two parties Coongress Joined the government with two ministries.

Him Bahadur Shahi is a Nepali politician of Nepali Congress and Minister for Social Development in Karnali government since 6 February 2022. He is also serving as member of the Karnali Province Provincial Assembly.

Padam Bahadur Rokaya is a Nepalese politician and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development of Karnali Province. He is also a member of Provincial Assembly of Karnali Province belonging to the CPN. Rokaya, a resident of Kankasundari Rural Municipality, was elected via 2017 Nepalese provincial elections from Jumla 1(B). Earlier, he was a party candidate with the CPN-UML back in 2017. At present, he is a party candidate from the CPN.

Gulab Jung Shah is a Nepalese politician from Karnali Province. He is a member of Provincial Assembly of Karnali Province belonging to the CPN (UML). Shah, a resident of Bangad Kupinde, was elected via 2017 Nepalese provincial elections from Salyan 1(A) constituency. He was appointed the Chief Whip of CPN (UML) and also the party co-incharge for Salyan District, Nepal since 2019. Later, the ruling parliamentary party leader and former Chief minister of Karnali Province, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has removed him as the party's chief whip in 2020.

Sita Kumari Nepali is a Nepalese politician and Minister for Internal Affairs, Law and Sports of Karnali Province. She is a member of Provincial Assembly of Karnali Province belonging to the CPN. Nepali, a resident of Lekbeshi, was elected under the proportional representation (PR) category for Dalit. In 2020, she was appointed as the chief whip of the party’s provincial committee by the former Chief minister, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi of Karnali Province. She is also the spokesperson for the Karnali provincial government. In 2021, she announced that the provincial government has decided to establish mass communications academy.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Nepalese provincial elections</span> Provincial election in Nepal

Provincial assembly elections were held in Nepal on 20 November 2022 along with the general election. 330 seats in the seven provincial assemblies will be elected by first-past-the-post voting and 220 by proportional representation.

The first Province No. 1 Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2017 provincial elections. 93 members were elected to the assembly, 56 of whom were elected through direct elections and 37 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The term of the assembly started on 5 February 2018 and ended in September 2022. Sher Dhan Rai and Bhim Acharya served as chief ministers from CPN and Rajendra Kumar Rai served as chief minister from CPN during the term of the assembly. Pradeep Kumar Bhandari served as the speaker of the assembly and Saraswati Pokharel served as deputy speaker.

The first Karnali Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2017 provincial elections. 40 members were elected to the assembly, 24 of whom were elected through direct elections and 16 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The term of the assembly started on 4 February 2018 and ended in September 2022. Mahendra Bahadur Shahi from the CPN and Jeevan Bahadur Shahi from the Nepali Congress served as chief ministers during the term of the assembly. Raj Bahadur Shahi served as the speaker of the assembly and Pushpa Bahadur Gharti served as the deputy speaker.

The Second Federal Parliament of Nepal, was elected by the 2022 general elections on 20 November 2022. The elections elected 275 Members of Parliament (MPs), 165 for each constituency and 110 through the party list, to the House of Representatives. The parliament convened for the first time on 9 January 2023.

The 2nd Koshi Provincial Assembly was elected through the provincial elections held on 20 November 2022. The assembly has 56 constituency seats in which members are elected through direct elections and 36 proportional representation party list seats. The term of the assembly is 5 years unless dissolved earlier. The first session of the assembly commenced from 1 January 2023.

The 2nd Madhesh Provincial Assembly was elected through the provincial elections held on 20 November 2022. The assembly has 64 constituency seats in which members are elected through direct elections and 43 proportional representation party list seats. The term of the assembly is 5 years unless dissolved earlier. The first session of the assembly started from 2 January 2023.

The second Bagmati Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2022 provincial elections on 20 November 2022. 110 members were elected to the assembly, 66 of whom were elected through direct elections and 44 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The first session on the assembly commenced from 2 January 2023.

The second Gandaki Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2022 provincial elections on 20 November 2022. 60 members were elected to the assembly, 36 of whom were elected through direct elections and 24 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The first session of the assembly commenced from 2 January 2023.

The second Lumbini Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2022 provincial elections on 20 November 2022. 87 members were elected to the assembly, 52 of whom were elected through direct elections and 35 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The first session of the assembly commenced from 2 January 2023.

The second Sudurpashchim Provincial Assembly was elected by the 2022 provincial elections on 20 November 2022. 87 members were elected to the assembly, 52 of whom were elected through direct elections and 35 of whom were elected through the party list proportional representation system. The first session of the assembly commenced from 2 January 2023.
