This is a list of members elected to the 2nd Nepalese Constituent Assembly at the 2013 Nepalese Constituent Assembly election and subsequent by-elections.

Contents

The list is arranged by constituency for members elected through direct elections and by last name for members elected through the party list. Subas Chandra Nemwang served as Chairman of the Constituent Assembly and Onsari Gharti Magar served as the Speaker of the Legislature Parliament. [1] Sushil Koirala, K.P. Padma Narayan Chaudhary (Tharu) (born 1948) is a Nepali politician and a member of the House of Representatives of the Federal parliament of Nepal. He was elected from Nepali Congress under the proportional representation system. Following his election to parliament, he was appointed the coordinator for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in the shadow cabinet of the main opposition Nepali Congress.

Pramila Rai is a Nepali politician and an incumbent member of the House of Representatives of the federal parliament of Nepal. She was also elected to the first constituent assembly in 2008. Daughter of prominent Nepali Congress leader Bal Bahadur Rai, she joined politics as a student, as a member of the student wing of Nepali Congress. Both her elections to the constituent assembly in 2008 and to the House of Representatives in 2017 were under the proportional representation system. An influential party leader in Udayapur District, she contested the second constituent assembly election from Udayapur-2 constituency under the first-past-the-post system but was defeated.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2022 Nepalese general election</span>

General elections were held in Nepal on 20 November 2022 to elect the 275 members of the House of Representatives. There were two ballots in the election; one to elect 165 members from single-member constituencies via FPTP, and the other to elect the remaining 110 members from a single nation-wide constituency via party-list proportional representation.

Uma Shankar Aragriya is a Nepalese politician belonging to the CPN (UML) who served as the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation since 4 June 2021 but was removed from the post by Supreme Court on 22 June 2021 making his tenure of just 18 days one of the shortest till date. He was also a member of the 1st Federal Parliament of Nepal after winning in 2017 Nepalese general election from Dhanusha 2 constituency. Arglariya formerly a popular leader, is thought to join Nepali Congress as his party, Loktantrik Samajwadi Party went clean swept in Dhanusha district in recent local level election.

At the end of 2020, a major split in the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) revived the Communist Party of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2nd Federal Parliament of Nepal</span>

The Second Federal Parliament of Nepal, was elected by the 2022 general elections on 20 November 2022. The elections elected 275 Members of Parliament (MPs), 165 for each constituency and 110 through the party list, to the House of Representatives. The parliament convened for the first time on 9 January 2023.
